I have more than a couple times been fumbling around with a shower credit machine at Petro/TA (supposed to be at J/Pilot but c'mon) not always there to spend the WHOLE night.
But anyhow more than a couple times strangers have offered me to take a credit off their card...The kindness of strangers never ceases to amaze me and of course as I always have (had) a surplus on my "J" card..will/would always give one whoever needs one..And being on the road...Don't we all?? Some more than others but I think there is a thread concerning that issue..
Would you give away a shower?

If I told it would ruin it, so I'm not sayin'. If and when I do provide charity to someone on the road and in need, you will never hear about it. It's probably the ONLY thing I don't blab on and on and on and on about; but if and when I do give to another in need I'm quiet, quick and discrete about it. I think the recipient appreciates it that way and to talk a bunch about it makes me feel like I'm just tooting my horn for a pat on the back. I do too much of that anyway without having to diminish a genuine act of kindness with it.
But for the Grace of God, there go I. We'll let this pass quietly for dignity's sake.mickeyrat Thanks this. -
Let me ask this .
Is it maybe rude to ask someone if they want a free shower ?
Idk I have been standing in line already , and I am like #### good god .
I know it sounds kinda rude , but you know its kinda like doing a favor for everyone.Last edited by a moderator: Mar 17, 2014

I would like to thank the driver at the Duncannon, PA Pilot who took pity on a poor, tired (& probably stinky) female driver who apparently hasn't fueled at a Pilot/Flying J in the last week...you are a lifesaver tonight!
Bumpy Thanks this. -
I can't get drivers to say Thank You when I hold the door open for them, so, No, not giving away showers anytime soon. I think the headlight interrupt is bad on my truck as I can't get a Thank You there either.

I can see offering a spare shower credit if you come across a new driver who doesn't have enough fuel points on his cards yet. If you're just starting out and you're still waiting three weeks on your first paycheck, $13.00 is a lot of money.

Oh the memories, Sure I give a shower away, have many hundreds of times. Been burned 6 times because they took the towels. They must have needed them real bad. Oh well.

at any given time I'll have at least 5 on my card, I fuel exclusively at Pilot/Flying J. I have seen guys go to pay for one and hand the cashier my card instead. I don't mind giving away a shower. It's been done for me, and I do it when I am asked.

About two weeks ago at a TA in Indiana I was seeing if I had a shower on my card. I thought I may have 1 but I had been fueling at loves. Well I didn't have one but the guy behind me just stepped up and gave me one of his. I thanked him and told him I really appreciated it but I didn't even get his name. I have given away showers before and it was really nice to see someone do the same without even being asked.
TennTrucker and mickimause Thank this. -
I never minded giving an extra shower away. There have been a couple of times I was stuck and had no shower credits. And the drivers were nice enough to give one away to me.
mickimause Thanks this.
