I got home only to have to go save one of the drivers that had collapsed a leg on a loaded pnuematic trying to get under it. Two of them were there one empty and after I started unloading one trailer into another they told me that wouldn't work I was going to turn it over. I pretty much exploded on them and one is looking for a job tonight. He probably would have a job if he wouldn't have started telling me I wasn't doing #### the way he would have when he owned truck. That's probably the reason he doesn't own trucks anymore.
Where is everyone #2!!

van or open deck?
-
I don't see why that wouldn't work? Makes pretty good sense to me, lighten up the trailer and make it easier to get under.... A case of the numb nuts?
-
Pretty much. They were worried that it was going to get heavy on the low side and flop over. The discharge was in the high side tho so the product fell to that side as it unloaded. It worked perfectly and saved me a crane bill although I've got to buy a new set of legs.milskired Thanks this. -
Gold Pete with a load of shingles on an open deck.
What kind of freight do you guys pull with your vans? -
Its the greatest crisis this country is facing. Men are an endangered species. Not the bleeding heart, crying, hyper-emotional, flute playing jackwads that are trying to pass themselves off as men. Real men. The guy that can make a woman breathe a sigh of relief when he says to her, "Baby, everything is okay." Mama has to have faith that when Daddy says everything is okay...otherwise she will pop a fuse (how many women do you see with mental issues?).
Why dont we have as many problems in this forum? It is because we are not afraid. So its cold outside. The roads are a little slick. The wind is blowing. Youre going to get dirty. Tarps can be heavy. You may get hurt. Youre stuck trying to load for 3 days on a remote jobsite. Theyre having a creeper party in the weigh station. So? So its part of the job. Each and every one of us understand the job. Some loads make us nervous, but we are never afraid. You drive an evil truck with an evil headache rack filled with steel. If Conan the Barbarian got his CDLs, what kind of wagon would he want to pull? Could you imagine a lumper trying to explain to Conan why he owes the lumper money?
You dont see us crying about being bullied by dispatchers, even the company drivers. Then again, we did put our shoes on to go to work today, didnt we. Drive when youre supposed to drive, and sleep when youre supposed to sleep, you shouldnt ever have any issues with office personnel.
Can you imagine what would have happened if bladder boy went to load in a steel mill and got his feelings hurt because he was slow loading? He'd call the news media to cry about the inhuman conditions that exist in the steel mill, and how the shipping clerk and crane operator intimidated him.
One day, some political type is going to say that your nads are the cause of road rage and whatnot. You go in for your physical and the practitioner is going to question whether or not you kept your nads, and how scientific study suggests that you will be more "agreeable" if they removed your stones. And there will be threads on TTR about, "Should I get my nads removed?" and some driver is going to post about how happy he is with an empty sack. And there will be lists of companies that hire nadless drivers only. And of course, California will go one step further. They will require all drivers to lose the tool too.cpape, leftlanetruckin, milskired and 2 others Thank this. -
It's the generation that has to make a road service call for a busted pig tail, its the generation that has to hire a mechanic to fix marker lights, its the generation that doesn't understand the value of owning tools.
I'm 32 years old, I look around at my fellow men and I say to myself, "What the #### guys?" it is really sick and sad.
But this is what all of these boys raised by single momies have done to this nation, instead of learning about working with their hands and skills that will get them by, they play soccer and get participation awards. They don't keep score, they are in touch with their feelings, and from what I hear many even sit down to pee. -
####, what thread are you guys talking about? I need to to read that one, if for nothing more than entertainment value! Even though I'm not pulling an open deck anymore, the work is the same. Get loaded, get freight there and deliver said freight. Don't sweat the small stuff, do what you get paid to do! Y'all have a good one.

Woah! Woah! Generation of truck driver.
When you graduate high school with no higher ambitions then to work at a plant making wiring harnesses for Navistar. Work there for 20 years and said Navistar plant lays off 100 employees. After 20 years you've been a zombie. Get up drive to work make wiring harnesses go to lunch make more wiring harnesses. drive home watch TV go to sleep and repeat 5 days a week for 20 years then you've forgotten how to do EVERY THING. So you get laid off decide to drive a truck. But you've turned yourself into a zombie and still even with a cdl don't really know how to do anything other then make wiring harnesses. The "new breed" of driver. That comes in all ages. Is a disgrace not only to trucking but to humanity. -
I didnt know either. So I went to the TMC message board and found it. It was already closed and the OP deleted most of what he said. Doesn't matter, you can still get the gist of things. Of course you get the usual bleeder responses, telling him how wrong they were for making fun of him for not being able to pee on demand. Of course there were the small pickle jabs too. And of course, the bleeders respond about how cruel and dehumanizing certain posters are.
Let's use those skills we've developed over the years from watching CSI. Bladder boy shows up for orientation with a medical card (you have to get one before you can get your CDL). Doesn't matter to most companies, they will have you get one from their facility during orientation. We know this, a noob won't. Bladder boy tells TMC the great tale of the boy with the shy bladder. Every one of us would have laughed in his face and told him to guzzle a half gallon of water and wait a half hour and fill this cup half way. Bladder boy uses this opportunity to champion the cause of the shy bladder, and he got sent home. Personally, I think he knew he would not pass that unexpected drug screen and was trying to get out of doing the drug test, because there ain't no way in hell I would have travelled all the way to a job, and allow any plumbing problems to stop me from going to work. If they were to do a follicle test, he would have told them of his shy hair follicles.truckon Thanks this.
