I heard they split from AZSTAR..... Ive been looking into this company for a few weeks. I can handle accents and whatnot but if they hpnestly think theyre gonna put me in a truck with a complete stranger then theyre dead wrong. I guarantee my counselor at th VA would throw a huge fit if that happened. And as for slip seating goes they can shove that up their respective #####. Ill give em a shot but my blades stayin on me and conversations are getting recorded from now on.

I looked into Trans Am. Wasnt really impressed. I was gonna go with Roadtex cause I was told I could take hometime after every run. In fact I was told it was mandatory. 3 days mandatory hometime. .38 cents a mile. 3000 miles a week. My own truck. If I find out any differantly Ill see to it that theres a lawsuit brought up Started to kinda get a little wary with all the promises. I know the tricks these Recruiters play. The Army has the best liars working as Recruiters. I imagine its the same here. Im not one to play nice. If I get screwed over Ill be takin em to court. I havea family to provide for. I wont play games

Let us know how that (suing them) goes.

I'm a soon to be trucker's girlfriend and I drive all over the country to see friends and family. Some trips are 11 hour drives and i get a little tired. I ALWAYS stop at a Pilot or Loves. All the one's I have stopped at have showers. I would park in front and tell the clerk I was stopping to rest for a couple of hours. It was at night and i wanted to be where there was a steady stream of people still coming in and out. No one had a problem with me napping for a few hours. I did mystery shopping (a good way a trucker can make a few extra bucks) that included evaluating truck stops. I would have to pay for a shower. Whether I took one or not was up to me. I would fill out the checklist with the company online and I was reimbursed for the shower and paid an extra 20 for comparing one truck stop to the next. It doesn't take long to do any of the online paperwork. Sometimes I had to take a picture but our phones do that and the eval you fill out can be done on your phone too. It's a way to get your showers paid for and put an extra 100 in your pocket a month. It goes to the paypal accounts in most cases. Some people like doing the mystery shopping evals. Some don't. The comparisons usually require a shower at one stop and a food purchase at another. You get reimbursed for what they tell you to buy. Not bad for anyone really. I'm not a driver and I did it. I also learned that the food purchase might be 50 miles down the highway from the shower. If you aren't pressed for time and have an extra 20 minutes on your route, I believe IntelliShop is the company that does the truck stop comparisons. There is another called GFK and they also do some fast food shops. Jack-in-the-Box, Arby's, and Subway have been the ones I've seen. They only pay a few bucks but they reimburse you for your purchase and the eval is short. It's tough out there and whether you are a new driver and not making a lot or an experienced driver with a family and a lot of bills, it's a way to make a few extra bucks and get some free meals and showers. I want the best for my BF when he hits the road and that means passing on anything that can help him and any other drivers. I know it's not every man for himself and you guys do try and look out for each other. The more I learn, the more I respect the industry. I'm open minded when I read the comments. 10 positives and 1 really negative doesn't mean the company is bad. Attitude plays a big role, it works both ways. I respect you guys and try and warn the oncoming traffic when the cops are running radar up ahead. It's saved me a few bucks. Be safe out there and if i come across any more of the shops that could put a few extra bucks in your pocket. I'll post them. National Shopping Service does Papa John's. They only reimburse and the carryout assignments aren't often but they pay back quick. I've been pleased with them. I realize location is key. When you're home, free pizza is still a good thing. BE SAFE OUT THERE!

Family or no family, there isn't room to play games in this industry. Too many regulations and the DOT keeps adding more. It's about being able to go to work in a safe environment, earn a decent wage, and go home. You family or friends will be waiting. It should be that simple. I was a nurse before I was in a horrible accident that left me on disability, all that aside, I worked in a department where we were expected to be able to pull a 24 hour shift if need be. We were on call after working 18-20 hours anyway. Things happen for a reason. It was becoming so unsafe. If I had a dollar for the # of coworkers I caught nodding off, including myself, I'd be very well off right now. Sadly enough, this practice continues despite State Board setting rules about how many hours you could work without rest. You have to look out for yourself so you can look out for your family. I fully understand where you are coming from. You are right to think that way. I don't care where you work or what you do, behind the HR recruiter's smiles lies a dirty underbelly. Some are far worse than others. Keep looking out for yourself and you will be fine. You already know. BE SAFE OUT THERE! Peace.

Hi I am a truckers wife and the things I seen and heard Roadtexltl say and do is unbelievable. Yes first they can not speak clearly enough to an English person listening them talk to my husband was so hard to understand. What state country etc are they from out of space!!
Husband has been with them for 2 half year just had an episode of his truck taking off while in the warehouse for over 15mins the air brakes gave out and slammed into a parked trailer. He just now got a call that his pay will be garnished oh really I dont think so we will take their ##### to court as he never signed at fault contract that he would be responsible for anything..
As far as working he sits and sits for calls from them where is he going next and not be paid for that sitting time. One day he sat over 15hrs waiting!!
Truckers be warned stay away from Roadtexltl do not work for this company ..Need4Speed Thanks this. -
My husband left Roadtex LTL. He has driven for two companies and they only knew him as a number not a a real person.. Well truckers the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Roadtex LTL knew my husband by his name and if he asked for something or needed something he always got it... I want to apologize for the ugly words written about this company and hoping my husband can actually get back into their company and trucks and be part of the Roadtex LTL family again. People make mistakes and the happenings with his truck that day and my words could of been handled in a better manner. We were both wrong. ..

Thousands of companies to choose from; why would your husband go back to one that didn't work out the first time?
