I would take lots of pictures of your trl. and make sure your insurance is up to date.
Who is taking the blame if anything goes wrong with it?
Not being rude, but things do get lost or destroyed there. ATS had a trl. that the mexicans cut the goose neck off as they could not figure out how to take it off over there. Plus they might side unload it and twist your trl.
Are they using your chains and binders?? Kiss them goodbye..
You are brave man..
Where is everyone #2!!

Yea, I never let mine go across when I had it. We transfered at the yard and put on Mexican trl.. They paid the crane fees if it was a crane on and off deal...
-
I did a load for LS like that I took 50 pics and put on the confirmation any damage to trailer after it was out of site they would pay for...at first they told me know when I said thank you have a good day the ton changed....both my trailers have trackers now and fully insured so I wouldn't care much these days but I'm getting $100 a hour.
-
I have done it 3 times in the the last year and never had any issues. I do take pictures but have never needed them. The pain is moving all my extra crap onto the truck.

The piece only weighs about 15k. It's part of a paint tunnel for Johnson Controls plant.
I will untie it at the transfer yard and they will use their chains and binders.
The last time I sent my old trailer down with chains binders and flags - no issues. -
We Send our newer equipment to the John Deere plant in Monterrey once in a while but Warren transport has that under control now. Back in the late 70's and 80's we just to send the truck over, no paper work checked and no passport, just needed your regular DL. I wouldn't worry if its going to Northern Mexico their new trailers everywhere especially Dry Vans and reefers. Anything going More south than Leon, Mexico i would worry. They don't see newer equipment everyday.
-
Ok, Glad to hear you have done it before and no issues. I just worry when I hear about somebodies equipment going across the border. Did they say how long they might have it then?
-
If you use the right freight forwarding company you usually don't have any problems.
-
I sent my trailer over to the Ford plant in Hermosillo a couple years ago. I took my ramps off, but all securement and tarps stayed on. No problems and got to be a tourist in S AZ.
Cluck Cluck Thanks this. -
There are about 60 loads total and they said the there were delays with the first couple. Supposedly it is only taking them 1 day now.
I am actually more worried about parking my truck at a hotel and having someone break in or steal fuel like what happened to Ty on Houston.
