    Loves in Houston, TX.

Fueling up then turning it over to my co-driver to take it back in to the DC. No ppln yet so we might get a chance to catch our breath and relax until tomorrow morning then it's back to the 'ol grind stone.

Peelot in Troy, IL. What a crosswind. The kind that hits you from the front and side. First time since this truck came out of the shop that seeing less than 7mpg. Loves load to Mustang, OK. So glad that there is a Wally World right next door to where deliver. Walking around this morning, found out that I had a blowout in my sneakers. ##### I hate wet socks.

Sitting in the bunk while the truck passes through Sayer, OK. It was a nice trip from Winslow to the Texas Rest area today. Nobody in Albuquerque or Amarillo tried to merge with me...LOL

Coming to you live from Greensboro, NC...

While waiting for my appointment to deliver earlier at Caterpillar, I ate at this cool little diner right down the street named Fat Junior I believe. Nice place with good food. After that I got into a conversation with another Swift driver, who also was making a drop, and I found out that I'm not the only person who has ever been given permission from a policeman to run over the front end of a car in order to make a right turn in the Bronx.... Oh good times

    I've had a fun day.

Last night I got stacked with 3 pplans.
The first, this morning, was a whopping 35 miles both mt and loaded t-calling at Lancaster terminal.
Then I wait an hour and a half for an mt before going to the next pu.

I thought it would be easy. Preloaded trailer delivering at 1900 in OK.
They were just finishing loading the trailer as I arrived, and I backed my mt into a dock then hooked to the loaded as it was being loaded.
    Sweet. Easy in, easy out.
I head for my fuel stop to fuel and weigh, and I weigh in at 80,560 before I even fuel.
I add 65 gallons so I'll have enough for the trip and head back to the shipper to get some weight removed. It's a load of recycled paper bales.

They tell me they will only take one bale off because they have to make sure they have at least 42k loaded.
After arguing, and losing, about taking 2 bales I head out to re-weigh.
    I've already lost 2 hours.
Get back to the scale and my weight is 79,980, and after adjusting both the 5th wheel and the tandems twice I finally get it fairly legal.
My steers are 12,150, but I got drives and trailer just within 34k.
And now I am nearly 3 hours behind schedule with not enough time on either my 14 or 70 to deliver on time.

And this load is at least 46k. They could have easily taken off one more bale.
I don't think they actually know what each bale weighs.
I do know what I weigh mt, though.

So, mac 22 and I'll deliver it in the morning.

And then I have an easy load going to Aurora, CO over the next couple days.

    wow talk about close 20lbs

I keep wanting to drop all my chains to lower a little weight, I have a full set hanging plus 3 bags of whatever amount is in a bag, I know its not a ton of weight but I dont drive where I need chains. Can I unload them at a terminal? I know my truck at the dc is the only truck even sporting chains but only because they were there when I got the truck.

Per bag you have either two single chains, or a double. I'd drop the bags.

Wolfy, if you have 2 singles and somewhere to keep them I sure could use them. I had two stolen off my truck at the FJ in Dallas. I'll be coming to your area to visit with my brother in Taft and my sister in Bakersfield in the next few months.

    TA in Denton, TX.

Had a short little run this morning to a couple stores in Dallas. Stopped here to fuel the reefer and take a shower. Headed out to El Paso this afternoon for a 05:30 delivery in the morn at my first stop. Hopefully the rest of the week has loads like this so I can have some good miles before heading home.

We are supposed to be home by the 27th and hopefully not a minute later because I've been running since jan 26th. I'm ready for a break. Normally I wouldn't be out this long but because of all the delays picking up my co-driver and getting to Texas we needed to run for a while. Besides my wife is in OK visiting family until the 25th so I really don't have anything to go home to before then.
