How often do you guys get stopped at weigh stations for inspections? Do they usually let the hotshot guys pass or do they get you as much as the semis? Do they check your authority and dot numbers? Thanks

Seems to be different for everyone, I've run 48 states (far west as CO and south to FL) gotten the green light all but two times (Ohio weigh station, PA rest/inspection area) all the rest were random roadside inspections.
Yes, they check everything. -
I think they give the hot shot expediter guys cavity searches just for the hell of it. If I'm correct it is anybody in an under 26,000lb GVWR F-Superduraduallyrammax truck gets a cavity search, blood test, and DNA swap.
AdamAnn Eiffel Thanks this. -
Random. Unless you don't follow posted scale rules. Then you'll get spanked.

Depends on your company's record.

Thank you so much for typing "weigh station" and not "weight station."
Grumppy Thanks this. -
Probably should be called "wait" station
Steeleandsonfarms and S M D Thank this. -
Been getting pulled for randoms on the road more. -
I've only been stopped twice while expediting. Once for a level 2 (Tennessee) and once for agricultural check (Florida). Most of the weigh stations I get lit into switch us to bypass as soon as we clear the ramp.
Stops were more complex when I ran the fuel tankers and tool trucks at my former job. -
Back to the OP....
Yes you get checked as much as the big trucks, at least here you do. Pulled over on the road once because he thought I was heavy, still had 20 lbs. Pulled in for a level 1 because I had 22k on the trailer tandems. Third time I really don't know to this day why I was pulled in. All this was in the last year.
