Awesome man. Really appreciate this info. Guess I need to get to my dealer and order this upgrade chip.

Sweet! Which chip part number did you use?Last edited by a moderator: May 9, 2015

The "DU", at $12. Mine was the older program. It just would be neat if it showed 7 digits.
underpsi Thanks this. -
I'm going to order my chip this week. I currently have the SD1-A V5.0 so I will need the EU chip.

Still have not had a chance to order the chip yet. Been busy with work. Gonna call and see if they will order it for me tomorrow. Prob is the local place requires pre-payment for all orders. Guess that's what they get for being located in Gary, IN lol

Well, my truck just hit the 999,999.99 mark last week. Installed the chip and it works fine now, show 823 miles now. thanks for the info Cetane. I only had to spend .38 cents for my chips
Cetane+ Thanks this. -
I finally got around to doing the upgrade. Have a problem though, while the odometer works again (and even knew somehow that I'd driven 5000 miles with it stuck at 999999) none of the trip odometers work. I miss them because I like to use them to monitor my fuel consumption per load. I can usually haul 4-6 loads before I have to fill. I do my own billing, and calculate exact fuel cost per load, so that I know my AF(after fuel revenue) per load. I can still do a rough calculation on this but it's not as accurate. When I first checked my data star version #, I was sure I had the first one listed on the bulletin, SD1-A V5.0 12/08/02. So I ordered the EU and, just before installing I did a final check, and realized that I had a 25 in place of either the 12 or 08 (can't remember which now). I went ahead and switched it out anyhow, with the results described above. Then, a week or so ago I received the other version from WS, and put that it. Still the same thing. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Cetane, do your trip odo's work? Funny thing, before I did any changes, when the odo was stuck on 999999, I still had 2 of the 6 trip odometers that worked. I'm almost wishing I had left the #### thing as it was, lol.
