The King has trained MY dog to bark and growl when he gives him a signal .....this evening I mentioned a couple of little things I need his help with....he gave my dog the signal and the dog started mouthing off at ME!
While the King is still rolling on the floor laughing ....with his dog and My dog ....I am plotting my revenge!

GrizzlyAlan, I wanted to wish you good luck as you start orientation this next week. Be sure to let us know how it is going.
mapurcell, how long have you been with TransAm? -
Not only could there be some pesky snow showers on Sunday in the Mid-Atlantic, but were also keeping an eye on a coastal system during the Tuesday-Wednesday timeframe for the East Coast that has the potential to bring some substantial snow to coastal New England and lesser amounts in the interior and back towards the Mid-Atlantic.
Some computer models indicate a Bombogenesis situation, which is, when a deepening low pressure system drops in surface barometric pressure by 24 or more millibars in a 24-hour period. This indicates rapid intensification and very strong winds; we could be looking at blizzard conditions in coastal New England if this scenario plays out. As with all storms of this nature, its too early to say precisely who gets what and how much at this time, but we will certainly keep our eyes on it as we get closer to the event. If the storm were to move a couple hundred miles west, then wed see rain; a couple hundred miles east, then we get nothing (fingers crossed!). Please dont take the accompany snowfall map as gospel, its a broad-brush idea of who could see snow from this storm given the current forecast.
But one things for sure, Winters not going out without a fight.

Kansas apparently missed the memo that it's spring because I'm sitting at the Petro in Colby and it snowed earlier. And I'm heading to Denver later on. T___T

I was in fact a TEAM driver for the 5 months I was there. This was in 2006 so that may not be the case today.
As for driving to the bus station, Our DR told me I would be fined and subject to disciplinary action for driving "Out Of Route". My co-driver had 2 years exp. so he was way beyond a student. Maybe things have changed there and I'm all for it. I know during my time there it was really bad and people were leaving in droves. However Johnny Jacobson STILL owns the company and that's enough for me to stay away. -
2006 information is useless
it is true transam will hire teams
they all leave because the planners are not set up for team dispatch
they just abuse teams with swaps that rookies cant deliver on time -
Well I slept all night and today want me to leave at 2 and drive all night problem is now that I slept all night I cant sleep today which will leave me tired tonight. Maybe this is not the job for me, and now again because of sitting I dont think I will get 3000 miles which means a small check again
-
sometimes that is a problem
elogs exacerbates that problem
all my runs now are 2200 miles so I can adjust my times to when I like to drive
hang in get your experience
there are all kinds of trucking jobs
most of them quite different then what you doing nowkrazyhorsechick and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
Coming Soon : Roadcheck 2014
MAR 24
Roadcheck is the largest targeted enforcement campaign on trucks and buses. Each year, more than 1,000 trucks and buses are inspected each hour, for a 72-hour time period.
This years Roadcheck will take place June 3-5, 2014.
Inspection stations are set up throughout North America, from Canada to Mexico.
In 2013, 73,023 trucks and buses were inspected. A historically low number of trucks and drivers were placed out of service: 22.4% of trucks and 3.9% of drivers were placed OOS.
Roadcheck 2012 focused on braking systems and HOS. In 2013, 49.6% of all OOS violations were the result of brake issues.
In 2013, a strong focus was placed on load securement.
Cargo securement related violations represented 11.7% of all OOS violations issued during the event, down slightly from 12.3% in 2012. Although this equates to only one out of every 50 vehicles inspected, loss of a load by a commercial truck is always a severe risk to safety. Inspectors always watch for signs of improperly secured loads such as inadequate number of tie downs, damaged webbing or chain, and other load securement violations, CVSA states.
Roadcheck 2013 By the Numbers:
- 73,023 trucks and buses were inspected
-47,771 of those were Level 1 inspections
-Of the Level 1 inspections, 24.1% were found with OOS violations
-A total of 71,630 driver inspections, including those conducted during Level I inspections.
-4.3% of the 71,630 driver inspections were found with OOS violations.
- 899 seatbelt violations were issued.
