I was on this board over a year ago asking questions and looking at companies. I went to Werner because when I called them they put me in a truck with a trainer 5 days after my call. I have worked for them just over a year and I make .41 per mile pull walmart trailers in the midwest. Home every weekend. For those of you that enjoy the math I am getting about 1900 to 2400 miles per week. Plus $15.00 per drop. I do well and they treat me well.

Ah Yes The Big Blue Screw... Well I really do not even know where to start. I worked for werner for all of 2 months and hit almost every problem that the company offers. My 1st and biggest issue was by the time i got paid it was like $70. My Second Issue was that they could never get me home on time. I started with them on January 15th,2008 and was told even though i had experience i had to do 70 hours with a trainer. OK fine if I must. Well I get done my 70 hours in Portland, Oregon of course they have no trucks there so another driver and i get a rental car and drive down to fontana. I sat in fontana for a day and a half before i was assigned a truck. I told my dispatcher I needed to be home on february 13th for a meeting with my lawyer. I was given 4 different home loads between california and Maryland all of which were Swapped off of me. I called my dispatcher on Feb. 15th from the springfield, Ohio terminal and told him get me a load home or i am turning in my truck. Well by a shock he actually did. So then i am not even home for two days and i leave again. Then I am out for 4 weeks and request hometime on march 14th. HA HA HA I got home on the 21st. during the time i was out after my first home time i had broken down twice within a week and my truck was in the dealership for a week. My biggest issue with werner is why give me a 1000 mile load that is du in two days to take it from me when i get closer to a drop yard and give me a 200 mile load that is due the same day. Time After time this happened and everytime i was just about out of hours. Do Your Homework and seriously consider another company before Werner.
