Looking for suggestions on tandem suspension differences in KW AG460 vs Pete Air Trac?

I'm about to go with the purchase of 2015 KW T800 or a 2015 367 SBA Pete, both spec'd identically for an oil patch work. My final concern is the difference in ride quality on and off highway, as well as ice and mud traction for KW AG460 vs Pete Air Trac. Both trucks equipped with dual levelling valves and full lockers. Will be hauling crude oil tridem tanker up to 120k lb gvw. Any inputs or suggestions greatly appreciated!

If Kenworth still offers the Neway air ride you might want to consider that as an option.

Not in the oil patch, but I do go off road pretty much everyday with my rig, It's got Air Trac, and as far as air ride suspensions go for the dirt, mud, etc I personally feel that the Air Trac is the way to go.

    Just my 2¢...

Not sure what the 460 is, but had the air trac in a logging truck and a friend had it in a dump truck. Awesome suspension, great traction and stability. Make sure at least one axle or preferably both axles are lockers, have them on their own switch if they both lock though. The down fall of this suspension is it doesn't have much wheel articulation. If diagonal drive tires (LF and RR) drop down and the RF and LR are on a hump it will lose traction if all you have is a power divider. You could get stuck turning around on a gravel road with a large crown. At least one axle lock is needed.
The design uses torque to lift the truck to plant the tires. It's awesome in sand. It doesn't chatter, though you may get a bounce or hop after a little way, but not chatter. It's the best on-off road suspension I know of. I heard you can get it in a KW now, but don't know what they call it.

Thanks for reply guys! I will most likely go with T800 and a Neway ADZ 46K series, full lockers, disks, 54" spread. Possibly a dual levelling valve as well. Having a test drive next week with this setup. We'll see how it goes...

NRG, this is what i would go with too, Neway susp are a lot better than a pete air trac, you can have neway on petes too by the way, and personnaly a far as truck make goes, theyre both pretty good, just depends on your personal choice ...... I've had friends that ran neway52k's on petes, hauled logs in forest in eastern part of canada.....i drove one of them for a test drive, i was actually really surprised at how well the ride was even bobtailing....
