Spent most of yesterday packing boxes and getting stuff taken to our storage unit. Sorting stuff for our big garage sale also this summer.
Going to to finish up my taxes today hopefully and get stuff ready to head out to MATS on Wednesday.

So much for a productive day.... after the second stop sat for 3 hours then came over to Troutdale waiting on a load south. Did a whopping 6 miles today

Newton, KS at the Newell Truck Plaza for the night.
Its nice to be able to walk somewhere to get something to eat and not freeze your balls off. -
Your less than a mile from my house, just talked to the missus and she's cooking up a batch of home made taco's tonight.
If your walking, cross under the freeway and a half block west on the south side is Montana Mikes, not gourmet but better than KFC or the truckstop.281ric, MJ1657 and saddlesore Thank this. -
I pulled into the lot and saw an SPD truck here and thought of you. I walked over to Applebee's.

Be careful over at the Apple, I have heard ahem, that too much time at their bar and a watermelon crawl will be in ones future ahem.MJ1657 Thanks this.

Still not much new on the mudslide since yesterday, grandma A still hasn't been located. Papa has had his breathing tube removed and his first (and almost only) words was where's Gamma so my son had to tell him that she hasn't been located, he responded with a single expletive, teared up, closed his eyes and hasn't woke since. The family is gathered at the hospital now because they fear he won't hang on through the night. 62 years he has spent living his every minute for someone who now can't be found, it's a very sad situation made even worse by the circumstances.
Grandma Bobbie has spent the day resting, Grandpa Bob is still hospitalized and going into surgery again late tonight so they can properly set his wrist before the bones begin healing. He has been in good spirits even though he's in tremendous pain.
On another note, Verizon has got to be the biggest jerks on the face of the earth since without identification they will not replace the phones. Well all their identification is buried in 20' of mud somewhere in a few square miles. The eye doctor ordered them both new glasses but it's going to take a week to get them.
One of the operations big wigs has been pretty insistent tonight that I fly back there to be with them. I keep telling him that there isn't a lot I can offer them in person at this point and that I think I'll hold tight till Grandma A is found and see what happens with Papa. -
Tough deal Catalina.
catalinaflyer and truckon Thank this.
