Joe a little advice on time saving stuff I do that will make you a little more money.Your use of time is critical when running your own business.I've seen where you use ACT's shop to do your pm's ect.Example-Driver #1 goes into shop at 0800 to get pm done shop says fine,we can get to it in a couple hrs. Then its 1030 or 1100, after pm is completed with lunch and all it's 1300-1400 when you ready to roll. You know as well as I do there's probably not any loads left for that day so you get some choice's for the next morning and away you go.

I have never done a pm at ACT since I've been here.I stop at petro,ta whatever on my 10 hr break and sometime's have to wait several hrs to get my pm done, but so what,I was just sitting there anyway. It's perfectly legal because I really never changed duty,as it took me only 2 or 3 minutes to pull in and out of the bay.If it was illegal dot would be standing in every shop in America writing ticket's.

With that said you can see that I ran 500 more miles that week(avg.) than you did and generated 725.00 more income.Of course that's not happening every week, but I do a pm about every 6 wks so just that alone ran me 4k more miles than you in a 1 yr period and generated 6200.00 more dollars. Its all the little things like that, that make a big difference in a yr's TIME.

Am I knocking the ACT shop? Heck no.Richie,John,Mike and all the mechanics do a great job!But if I go in there, I all of the sudden have to go on they're schedule. They have all kinds of projects, trks, trailers to repair. It's not like anybody's just sitting around doing nothing.Well that doesn't work for my schedule or my business,so I have to go elsewhere, because My truck can't be down for a day on a pm that take's 2 hrs to complete.

I was at ACT's shop last week and had new brakes and drums installed(802.00).I had been on the road for 3 wks straight and was needing to get out of the trk and take care of some errands.Dropped my trk off, went to the hotel, ran errands and went back next morning and left, yes I lost a day but I really wanted to.

Bottom line is that I picked up 90-100 miles a week over you and generated around 150-160 dollars more income per week over a yrs time.

OK so now you are going to make up stuff about me and call me names YOU don't even know who I am. If you read my posts you would have known I was a company driver. So much for being a failure at my lease! Now let's talk about the inconsistencies in your posts. You talk like you have a choice in what truck you lease but you know that is decided by ACT and they tell you what truck you are going to get, just like they tell you when you are going to pay to change the oil or when they tell you the shop is replacing this part and you're paying for it. They make the calls LP drivers pay the bill! Next you imply BlackLions worked 10 months last year and went scuba diving all over the world, he may have I don't know. This much I do know he didn't take that much time off and pay cash for that new King Ranch Ford you talk about. Now let's discuss the part where you call me a liar. You stated you cleared 70k 1st year and 80k the 2nd year. I hope your 1040s shows that?? I will never know we will just let GOD decide who the liar is. To anyone that is considering a lease purchase before you do go be a company driver for 90 days and make sure you still want to do it after you find out what the place is all about.

Well anyhow Pete good luck with the recruiting hope you win the ATV for recruiting the most!

Thanks exact,I hope I win the ATV also,

And you're right,I have never read any of your post.Like I said before,I haven't been on this site in almost a yr.Joe's been posting in here for a long time and I just got on and wanted to read how his numbers are going.A big part of why I don't get on here is because guy's like you will get on and make false statements(since you don't like the word lie's) about the company.Since you didn't even do a lease, there's no way what you say has any merit. It would probably do you best to talk about company driver's exp.,since that's all you have.

As far as Blacklions goes,I don't know his finance's.You would have to ask him, that's really not any of my business. All I know is,he has a king ranch pickup that he bought while working here and goes scuba diving all the time.I do know he's not independently wealthy,or has any other source of income.

You do get to pick your truck at ACT when you lease.Marsha will call you on thur or fri and tell you what truck's are available to choose from. This was done when I leased a truck and has been done ever since. You are not told you have to take any particular truck.I myself wanted a particular truck and waited a extra week for them to have that one ready. But I had a choice of 4 that week.

As of today there is a min. of a 2 week wait to lease a truck at ACT.Call any other company and you will be ask to come in tomorrow probably.

As a lease driver at ACT you decide where and when you do your service on your truck(ANY SERVICE).The mfg. suggest's 34 or 35k I believe on these new engine's for pm's.I'm old school and have my service done at 15-17k,I'm going to own this truck in a yr and have taken the best care I can of it.I probably spend twice as much on pm's than some driver's who wait till that 34k range, but that's my choice. And yes I have to pay for it. Just like any other owner operator does.

ACT will send out a message to you on the qualcom at 32k and tell you your pm is about due if you have not done one. This I know because I was sent one by mistake once. The only time you are required(BY CONTRACT)to use the ACT shop is to have your DOT inspection done, once a year.

So once again exact, what you're spouting out about the ACT lease plan is totally false!

Now as a company driver,as with all company's you are told where to fuel, when to service your truck, what route you were to take and what load's you were to run.You basically get to pick where you park at night and where you eat.I guess that work's for many guy's and that's great.I choose to determine my own future and income based on my ability to make good business decisions,I screw up once in a while but try and learn from those mistake's.

ACT has a really good if not the best lease plan in the industry,I know,I researched this for 3 months prior to coming here. Was the best decision I've made since I started driving a truck.

So Pete can you change your own oil?
If there is a two week wait to lease it is because orientation class is full. I know the shop yard is full of empty trucks and I am sure more will show up this weekend they always do.

Its not the same for a Self employed person, unlike a 1040ez for employees. And just to let u know , I to am a lease driver and netted 3, 018.27 this week . I m track to do 1600 this week. Don't bash folks for their decisions . Pretty sure there's a Exact driver forum somewhere else for u to troll.

Well as all can see with their own eye's,exact has no reply to anything that he said (lied,o sorry, maybe like Obama, misspoke) about all the statement's he has made.

No exact I don't change my own oil,I don't own a shop or the equipment to handle that.I pay my own money to have it done.As a company driver you're kind of way out of your rhelm here, the farther you go the more ridiculous you sound, stop and go start a thread of your own in bad company's section and tell everybody how horrible it was for you at ACT,you might make some new friends, the kind of guy's that blame everything that's gone wrong on the company they worked at and everybody else, instead of taking a good hard look in the mirror.

There is a waiting list at ACT,because of lack of trucks right now.ACT has a few trucks sitting around sometimes that they sell, trucks that were problems that they traded out to driver's and lease drivers that wanted to up grade to a newer truck. When you get down to a yr or less, alot of time's ACT will offer to put you in a new truck and have only a 36 or 24 month payout,so if you're concerned about running a truck with no warranty you can switch. Then they take your old truck and sell it.You wouldn't know anything about that because you were never involved in the lease department.

Maybe a couple of company driver's like you will quit or get fired this weekend and I can find a driver for them and win that ATV you want me to have.

s36ryan is absolutely right,we don't file 1040's,we are self employed.exact, there's a section on this website that you can be around your kind of people, this isn't it.

Can we agree not to turn Joe's thread into a battle zone? Keep it relevant to the common thread.
