That would be incorrect. Tarp most loads, sure. But I hauled plenty of loads I did not have to tarp. Shingles for example. Hauled a lot of those. Obviously no real point in tarping those. Other loads not tarped were steel I-beams, rebar, culverts, treated lumber, metal roofing, steel gables, and the like. Heck, I even had a few lumber loads in which the customer put on the BOL, "Do Not Tarp Load." They were going to treatment processing plants, so the lumber getting wet wasn't an issue.

well tomorrow will be my fourth day here been some long days cant wait for the weekend

You will get better, & faster. Just takes time. As I'm sure your trainer has been telling you, once you're on your own you'll figure out what works best for you, i.e., best technique timing-wise (not sacrificing safety). Just takes repitition. Glad things are going well! And yep, emergency supplies are must! lol
-
Yeah, orientation days are long. They throw a lot at ya. Hey! Tomorrow is "get your employee number", isn't it??
-
like what type of bathroom emergency supplies
-
david told us it was trip planning day I think we get the real official hiring Friday
-
Roll of TP!
-
Hmm...they musta changed the schedule a bit. Yep. They're HUGE on trip planning...but that'll pay dividends for ya when you're out there on your own. Might as well embrace it. You'll do trip planning every day next week, as well as while you're out on the trainer truck. But like I said...it'll pay off.
-
yea I don't mind at all I want to be able to plan my trips good hard to believe after these last few months I am here and made it to Thursday so I figured I'm set and I have a job with them I did tho fall apart on the road test grinded every gear up and down I looked at Bruce almost ready to cry and asked him did I at least pass and he said yes but u need to work on your shifting then later tonight I had shift training with Jamie and did way better
-
See!? What did I tell ya? Grinding gears in the road test is not an issue, the shift training would help, & they're really looking for a reason to not send guys home, but rather to get them thru orientation & on to training. You'll do fine. Just learn all you can & keep up the good work. Oh,...and enjoy your weekend!
