Tower City, ND for the night. Run up to Garrison in the morning to kick my load off then run home into 5-7 inches of fresh snow.

Carl, you could probably bet a deal on my old 35 ton xl with my flip, the dealer in Denver still had it when I was in picking my booster. 2 weeks ago....

Well I have'nt looked for any trls. lately. And the way things have been going, I hate to admit this but I can't afford one at the present time.
I know pulling their trl I take big hit on line haul, where when we were at Sammons I paid 380 a week to lease their trl. and that covered full maintance. Way cheaper to lease their trl. there than owning one.
Here I lose 14% on every ld...

    Washington update-
Not much different yesterday, my son and all of his friends spent the day searching again but found nothing. He said its taking hours to search a small area because the trees are so tangled into everything coupled with mud that's either hard as concrete or like quicksand. He said the one single thing they are in need of more than anything else is anything chainsaw related, chains, bars, fuel, oil etc. Cutting through the trees down in the sand and mud is eating up the saws so fast they spend 2/3 of the time fixing the saws. They can't just go at it with heavy equipment because there are still 90+ people missing so they're having to disassemble the slide rather than just dig through it.

Papa is still in Harbor View listed as critical, he's improved very little but at this point any improvement is a god send. Grandma Bobbie and Grandpa Bob are at Doug's and still in tremendous pain and finding out how cruel the world really is as they try and piece their lives back together. It's fortunate that one of the daughters is also the president of the bank otherwise they would still have no access to their accounts but Verizon stood their ground and as a result lost 10+ year customers.

Now the kick in the face to most of these people affected, the insurance companies are saying they're not paying claims that are a result of the mudslide. Seems as though a mudslide is viewed like flooding, there is a special insurance required that less than .1% of homeowners in Washington have. Something called a "Difference in Condition" policy that Grandma Bobbie and Grandpa Bob swear they never heard of or was ever offered to them. They had flood insurance but this was not a flood or a result of flooding so that doesn't cover it and the regular policy doesn't cover mudslides so as of right now they are looking at being left with nothing and going to get nothing.

So a few things to be learned, number one read every single word of your phone book sized home owners policy, you may not be covered like you think you are. And a second, have a valid form of identification stored at a place other than your home like a relative or friend well away from where you live because without that ID you can't do anything and no a safe deposit box won't work because without the ID inside that box you can't prove to the bank who you are to get into that box.

I'm still wrestling with my mind about where I need to be. Since I'm not a resident I cannot go out to the slide area to help which is where my son is spending every second of daylight working and Grandma Bobbie - Grandpa Bob have all the children there tending to them and since I'm not immediate family of Papa I can't get into ICU to see him so for right now my son and my ex said for me to hang tight.

Stories like this continue to remind that insurance companies may be the biggest scum on earth. They will find any reason to get out of paying for their clients. A true tragedy that you and your family is dealing with, and we are all told we need insurance to protect our lives, possessions, and family. Yet in a time of need/crisis, the insurance company ducks and runs… Truly sad! I've been following your story Catalina, and I give my heart felt condolences and prayers for your family. A truly tragic event that I can't image ever having to deal with.
