Now that is a possibility that he could have been caught up in 3 different scams but I don't think we will ever know.
Some people like l/p some don't and it is all in what works for you.
As stated earlier I am a driver for a local company and one of these days I might have my own truck. -
DrivertoBroker
you do make the eyes open to a different scenario. -
{Popcorn}
My home time "request" was put in well in advance, PLUS I HAD reminded him on that THURSDAY, that I was headed home for MONDAY. I DID have a load taking me within 15 miles of my home. However, when I was in Washington (headed for Oregon), I was qualcomm'd that I was to drop my load at a "secure JCT approved lot" for delivery at another time. They had a driver unable to make the rest of their load and it was headed to Texas. They told me that since I was the only one in the area that I was FORCED to take the load so they wouldn't have a service failure (hot load.) I called on Saturday to tell dispatch no could do as I was headed home for a commitment. I told them my DM knew all about it and it was "approved." They said there was NOTHING in the system and that my DM hadn't shown me on home time. I told them I was going to continue with my current load and keep rolling to Oregon. They again told me I had to drop my non-priority load that a large delivery window and take the Texas load. I told them no again and they had me drop the load I was on in the JCT "approved" yard for someone else to pick up. I dropped it and politely told them that I was still headed home (about 230 miles left). They said there was no load to give me going that way (even though I had dropped that OREGON load in that yard!) So, I bob tailed my arse home, made my commitment with the inlaws that had been planned for some time, and didn't answer my phone when dispatch kept calling. When I came back from home time on Tuesday at 7 am, I had a preplan for a load going to "drop" at JCT in Oklahoma. I took it, accepted it, found an MT trailer and booked. A few days later when I arrived at JCT, I put my truck in the shop for a PM and waited....and waited. FINALLY at the end of the day they told me I had to go see the guy in the main building (to the left of door in his TINY office. I just can't remember his name, sorry. I was told that they were terminated my lease. I requested mediation or arbitration, but was refused. They gave me 20 min to clean my truck out and get off the property via a cab to the Greyhound. THEY SUCK, that is my experience. Some people here think it was my fault, well, if I were an employee it would have been, but as a supposed "independent contractor"....hmm. I really think the IRS should crack down on companies like this. JCT and other L/P companies want the benefit of having the drivers pay for everything, but they don't want to follow the LAWS when it comes to IRS rules about "control."Last edited: Mar 28, 2014

Well Trudger I have talked to some of the drivers at JCT and they have a different version of what happened and it is different from your version. I am not agreeing with them over you or you over them. I am just saying there is two sides to every story and we will never get to know who is telling the truth. Only you know that and therefor I hope you do well whatever you decide.

Your dm didn't do his job. Dispatch needs to cover loads. Especially hot loads. You taking the initiative of going home even though they said no is why you got fired. Here's what you drivers don't get. When you lease onto a company you are under their rules, not yours. If you want to make your own choices, buy your truck get your authority and find your own loads off load boards.
Previously you claimed that you spoke with John Christner himself about the issue and he just blew you off? That right there was really hard to believe. Anywho best of luck on your next ventures -
