I want to thank truckers in general just because you can't really do it on the road. I am not a trucker myself though I do drive a lot on the Highways in the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, Canada. Just find that most truckers are you usually very good with giving you room to get on and off and are generally way more aware and better drivers than the rest of the public (and for obvious reason).

I dunno I Just want to say thanks, I've been bailed out a few times by a trucker giving me room to go across a lane to get off the highway or get off the Express Lane onto the collectors

    Thanks! and your welcome lol.
A lot of young people are intimidated by big highway trucks and its understandable why, they are pretty big and those huge things can look scary in your rear view mirror. Truth is I probably feel a little more safer with a few trucks on the highway beside or near my because at least you know there are some good drivers around.

I've thought about becoming a trucker but I don't think I could do it for more than a year, all the time on the road would make me lonely and I don't think I could handle that.

It's great that you made this post. So many negatives out there about truckers - it's nice to see a positive - especially from the younger generation. We've driven through Toronto many times and wow, the traffic!! but people are generally very friendly and the truckers there are great.

Thanks for posting, fellow Canadian :)

yes 401,thank you for taking the time to say thank you! and for taking the time to look for a place to say it!! tell your friends. Tell your parents. I try to drive thru other peoples towns like I would like them to drive thru mine when they come visit centeral Oregon. Their ar families and loved ones in the cars and veichles around me. Sometimes we get tied up in the hurry and rush of our loads and forget. Keep safe out there and keep posting!!!!:yes2557:

Your welcome! I think most of the people I know anyways, realize the skill and talent that comes to driving a truck. I just I get stuck in rush hour so much and always truckers are generally so aware compared to the rest of the general public, because they're driving so much more. Typically I see truckers giving more room than needed going slow enough to break in case someone cuts in front. Usually when your getting on the ramp and all they're in the middle lane or giving you enough room to get on. Sure of course truckers get into accidents like regular drivers.

I remember one time my dad telling me a story where he was hit by a car and into the side of the a guardrail and then was sitting back in the right hand lane, and a trucker actually was right there and in order to prevent cars from hitting him just parked on an angle to ensure people would stop, cuz I guess the truck was really not going to be going anywhere anyways seeing as he would've hit my dad if he didn't do that.

I dunno I just feel they don't get enough credit, and like I try to thank them on the road as best as I can, but I can't always or they don't see so this is always a good place to do it.

Plus its always really neat to see trucks from other places, see a lot of them from Michigan, PA, Quebec, Manitoba..a fair bit from NS, Alberta, Ohio and all over its always nice.

As for Central Oregon I've been to coast of Oregon and its gorgeous and I loved Portland, OR when I visited it! Just a beautiful city if I say so myself. I' love long distance driving so I'll be in Central Oregon someday

Your welcome, Thank you for taking the time to notice truckers in a positive fashion and taking the time to acknowledge us. I live in the states but used to have a dedicated run to Toronto, I love it up there. God Bless and Take Care.

Well I never.... Its few and far in between to get someone on here that says thanks. Usually more like, "why did that trucker get mad when i cut him off and slowed down to 40 on the big road" or the best... "some trucker ran me off the road deliberately.. I'm 100% positive he could see me.. I was right next to his passenger window.."

Thank you for the thanks and flowers and all that. Kinda just brightened up my day. Its amazing what a simple word can do for ya....
