    I love this quote from an article I read somewhere this morning;

    "But, it'd be hard to organize because there's nobody out there to represent them." Lee Powell said. But the estimated 350,000 independent truckers may have been organized enough.

    I went out in the 4 wheeler today on I-40. I drove about 15 miles each way or 30 total.

    There are mostly company trucks on the road in this part of NC. The only O/O's I saw were 3 container haulers. There were a few personal trucks of small companies that do landscaping type of work, and use their trucks to move equipment from job to job locally.

    It looks as if this thing is getting legs. There wasn't a lot of cars compared to usual either.

    My wife came home last night wondering why so many people had been at the grocery store Sunday and Monday when she was there. It looks to me that a lot of people have heard of this and are stocking up.

    I am home, and I hope most can get there and stay.

    When I parked for 6 weeks in 1979, trucks were getting shot at and bricks thrown through the windshield. Who knows, people may start this again, so it is best to park.

    Back to 1979, the strike wasn't 6 weeks, I just decided to stretch it out. Then someone wanted to buy my truck, so I went on strike for a long time.

    I was young, but my uncle was a State Trooper when that strike was on. they MADE him ride shotgun with the TANKERS that still tried to move the gas & fuel. After two weeks of taking the bricks and pop shots from the woods, the State Police here told the truckers (scabs) they were on there own. Allot of them parked right then and there. If they can't move it, they can't sell it!
    Most of the refineries have so much fuel and gas stock piled they have nowhere to put anymore, means they have to shut down too. And that will hurt them. I know people that work at CITCO, Houston TX, Thats what they told me. My truck is parked and most of the truck owners, even the company owners, have parked too. About 55 trucks. We won't even run local. The local truck stops are already screaming!
