Loaded two trucks 143" wide in DE last Wed afternoon. Left at 07:15 Thurs. Shut down at the TA in Pembroke, NY around supper time. Left Pembroke at 07:15 Fri, cleared customs in Niagara Falls, dropped trailer in a storage lot in downtown Toronto by 11:00. Not a bad move so far. No excitement to report. Going back to move from the storage lot to Toronto train station at 06:30 Sunday AM.

Then back to do it all over again next week with another two trucks. Cheers.

Home for the day...kicked off the two last genies yesterday in Whittier then ran over to Commerce and loaded the Canadian aluminum load and brought it up to Redding... Will swap here at the TA tomorrow with the Canadian driver and I'll head back south and do it all over again.

The load is in Savannah, GA. It will not be the driver that does the HH. This piece is only 30K lbs. We used to haul these types of machines for local manufacturers quite often (about 10 years ago). Then they started moving too competitively...at least in my opinion. It seems now that the manufacturers are getting more stringent with their requirements and that may being bringing rates up. Now they tell the customer that if the driver must tarp to the floor with good tarps, and obviously have an air ride trailer. The warehouse can reject the truck if they aren't tarping properly. Also will void the warranty. The load requires an RGN, needs tarps & is worth $300K, it needs to pay accordingly.

Last time I was in California the place I reloaded told a guy he couldn't load there because he couldn't tarp all the way to the rub rails. He had like a 1' gap and they said "No way Jose".

I see Werner trucks pulling flatbeds up and down 5 almost everyday that have like 4 ft tarps and always have at least 6-10" of open space from the tarp to the deck

Just shut down in Salina, will run the rest of the way home tomorrow.

On a side note, somebody destroyed the toll booths and toll booth plaza at the entrance to the west bound KS toll road west of KC. Got stuck for an hour and watched what got hauled away, not too good. They had a crane loading the toll plaza roof on a rgn when I passed by.
