There is a little truckstop about 2 miles north of the DC on US 75, think was called Stop N Shop or something like that. Has decent size lot, don't think its open 24 hrs but its place to park.

Man. What an evening. First, Swift backs into my truck hard enough that it felt like an earthquake. He disappeared before I could get out, but luckily no damage. So I let it go. Annoyed that he couldn't even come admit his mistake, but no damage. Just when I think I can go back to bed, my truck starts to roll and I hear my brakes singing to keep my truck stopped. I get dressed and fly out my truck and there is Landstar. He had so softly backed into my trailer that there was no bump and was still trying to backup and was pushing my truck forward. He apologized and pulled up a little. No damage on that one either.
Part two.....while I was typing the first part of my post. A Crete truck blind sides the front of his trailer and the rear of his truck in the front passenger side fender of the truck next to me. He tried to take off, but with the help of another driver who saw it, was able to catch him and stop him from leaving. Turned out that this was the guys second backing accident today.GabeScott, Stile, drloveofdfw and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wow.... Thankfully you got no damage from those. Glad I am parked next the scale here at the Jamestown, NM Pilot.

I think I would move from that parking spot, some bad karma there.

No other place to park. And Landstar is parked for the night. So I don't have to worry about being tagged from the rear for the rest of the night. The space next to me opened up and now a little hesitant to go to bed.

There is also a little dirt lot across the street from the DC entrance that you can park at...however, 2 disclaimers:
1) There is a private property sign there that may deter some. But from what I hear truckers have been parking there for years without hassle.
2) Beware of parking there if it's raining, or has recently rained. The mud and/or holes that fill with water will get you stuck, as some will attest to.
The key is obviously being able to roll into the DC from right next door, usually to the benefit of your logbook...MachoCyclone Thanks this. -
Missed ya traffic. Not much at&t signal here. Couldnt get on here for a while. Nice seeing ya again Macho! You are definitely a target tonight for crazy drivers.
-
Yep. Felt that way. With all the excitement, I forgot to set my alarm and over slept. But that is fine, I couldn't go to sleep until someone parked in the space next to me. I am only about 8 hrs from delivery and will park at that dirt lot across from the Wal-Mart.

Be cautious of parking in the dirt lot, as a wrecker seems to be needed by many to get out of there. If you were to pull I. During the daylight that may not be so bad. Also there is a small fuel stop less than two miles up the road with limited pay parking.MachoCyclone Thanks this.
