turbo question

    first of I have a cat 2ws 475 the original turbo part # or-7923 came apart so I replaced it with a borg warner part# 177148 the old one would get 33# of boost the borg gets about 29# of boost is that enough to worry about or is there away to get it back up thanks

    If it has a waste gate on it pinch the line off and that will bring you're boost back up and give a little more horse. You might not notice any difference in pull without doing that but if it is lacking and you want it back that's a quick fix

    Do not completely block the wastegate off, the actuator can be shimmed to raise pressure and still allow proper function of the gate.

    K whopper you can do either on that turbo. Some guys don't like to pinch it off. I did mine that way for years and never had an issue and now I get them built without waste gates. I wouldn't have a problem without doing it again if I had one. It's fast and easy fix and you can take either advice you want. Smoking I'm not knocking your experience here. I can read enough post to know you have quite a lot. I'm just telling him what has worked for me
