In Canada as a long haul trucker you are under federal rule. You are entitled 2weeks vacation and 4%of gross wages after a year of service and 6%and 3 weeks vacation after 6 years of employment with same employer.

 

I get 4% vacation pay on every cheque....plus $300 for every stat holiday.

Trucking companies have been doing their drivers in the pooper over this and paying OT for decades.

 

Federal Rule is exactly correct here. These are the rules fpr any company driver who works for a company that operates across the country. If more drivers were aware of their rights under the laws transportation would be a far better industry...
