Ok. Here's a update on shelbyville dc.. Prime came back today and was giving us new information on the whole deal. To make it short 99% of what they told us before was a complete LIE. Pay is going down on about 85% of our loads. We can keep our trucks but only for mths then must upgrade to 2010 or newer. Governing trucks to 65mph. Run elog which we pay for$600-$800 plus fees. All insurance is higher. They charge $225 for you to have your own tag. Basically there is no way any of us will be here anymore. Company drivers are getting cut also on pay. About $100 a week. I will agree with the others that talk bad about prime at this point. Why would you lie to about everything for no reason. Greatwide was pretty bad but I'm not even going to attempt prime. Al I can say is WOW!! Unbelievable....

    Greatwide dedicated:
Posted this in another thread also..but does anyone have any info on the Terrell, TX location? They do Wal Mart dedicated account. I drive a Dr. pepper truck to grocery stores and am always running in to greatwide drivers at wal marts.. Most of them are real nice and do seem happy with their jobs and have given me lots of info on them. Yeah most of them drive older trucks simply because they're paid for and reliable..and they're home everyday so it's not like the truck is out over the road taking all kinds of abuse and tons of miles. They're able to keep them rolling for not much cost. One guy who had an old freightliner FLD Classic told me he was taking home anywhere from 1500-1800$ a week after fuel and expenses. they all say they make real good money and they also say it's much better to have a truck that is paid for than to do the lease purchase with them. But over all they are great guys and from an outsider looking in, just from talking to them and gathering info it seems like a good job. yeah there will be BS anywhere to deal with but from what I can see it seems like a good deal. I am thinking about buying a used truck and getting on with them so any more info or opinions on this would be
helpful!! I want to buy a cabover :biggrin_2559:

Walmart Texas.. From my understanding Greatwide has a 3yr contract there with about 2 yrs left on it. It is always a gamble no matter what you do. At the same time no risk no reward. Greatwide corp are definatly idiots as I said be fore just be ready for change if you do it. The money sounds pretty accurate from what I do also. It's not a bad ride just don't know how long it will last...

I read this entire thread waiting for you to see the light. Thanks for the chuckle, sorry it sucks for you though. We were with Prime for 2 years...been there, done that.

Thanks for the Texas info. A couple of guys were bragging they are making $3000 a week pulling WalMart out of Cleburne. I thought it sounded too good to be true.

They would prefer for you to live within 30 miles... however they'd even more prefer to have enough drivers to deliver the freight. Get on, start on OTR 48, then see about moving over. You probably won't have a bit of a problem.
