Thinking about getting a truck driving certificate at a nearby community college. I'm working currently so considering their night class option. Two questions: Any reason to think a three month 4day/wk course isn't a worthwhile way to train? Assuming they do road work at night, any thoughts on the value of doing so, good/bad?

    Thanks!

Any training is better than none, but most course from the colleges are better than these so called driving schools. I would say go for it. All they are doing is training you to pass the minimum CDL requirments. You'll get your actual driver training at the first company you work for. It sucks that it works that way. But my community college blows the doors of the local CDL mills and its a few grand cheaper, but the Mills have the recruiters and alot of people actually never think to check to see if their local community college offers CDL courses
