And with a little research and question asking, the OP would already have known this.... There is a reason why I read, read, and read some more, BEFORE buying a truck.

Sure someone will hitting there self on the steering wheel saying why did I bought this truck with crappy engine!
-
I know you must run the overhead on the paccar. I know a few techs, and the word is the overhead is very important to run at the recommended intervals
-
No I was told this a while back. It was no April Fools joke. They were serious so myself and my friends will no longer buy any paccar products
sdaniel Thanks this. -
I've driven a mx motor with 455hp carrying gross and it pulled great. Only thing I can say negative is the pacbrake is a bit weak you need to downshift and turn it on. And they are very quiet. Other than that it was great on fuel.
-
I also don't believe every negative story about the paccar engines especially if the person dragging it through the mud just happens to be a new member. I'm not saying they are telling a story but it would be more believable from someone who has been on here for longer that a few months or a week!

I really don't care if you believe me or not. Just trying to warn owner operators about what I went through. Don't care about what company drivers think. I only found out about this site the day I joined and if this is how you treat people no wonder this industry has gone down hill. I have been driving since I got out of the service in 1977 and have watched trucks, drivers and the industry deteriorate very badly, especially over the last ten years. I see how all you new drivers are and from now on I will not help or warn any one again. I AM NOT A LIER have a nice day
-
Easy there, since you have been around this business for so many years, then you don't need me to tell you that you need a little thick skin now and then. We see this a lot from new members when someone that has been here for a little time says something that they don't like, no need to get bent out of shape over it, just overlook it and move on, and don't let things like this keep you from helping out your fellow driver, because that in my opinion is what is wrong with this industry.

My dot and Mc numbers are both six digits long and start with 3. I have had my own authority for a fairly long time. I am sorry but I don't consider anyone leased on to a company an owner operator. This was intended for owner operators who don't have big companies to help them with another big corporation. Would you please remove my account as I prefer to associate with other owner operators who would ask questions and not condone me for being new on a website
-
There are several of us that are leased to carriers in here, as well as a good many that are flying their own flag, sure there are some differences in our day to day operations, but at the core of it all, we all have more in common than we have indifferent. I am going to go ahead and close this thread, as its sure to take on a foul smelling storm that is unwanted.
