Would you recommend a company setting this up your authority or do it yourself. I know it is cheaper to do it yourself. However is it worth it for the first time? Especially me being new to the game.

I don’t get why anyone would pay to have this done. It can all be done online directly at the FMCSA, they have a easy to follow questioner to follow through.

Anyone doing this for you would just have to ask you the same questions asked directly at the FMCSA site and then just pass the information on to them.

They are just taking your money to do what you can do yourself.

Do it your self, everything is self explanatory. Fill out the questions. IF your going to be running independent it best to know whats going on and when things expire. Do it your self and save the money!!

    MrHarris504 Thanks this.

If you have to pay someone else to do your authority filing, then will probably need to pay someone else to do the other 500 things you will need to set up to keep your authority. By the time you are done, you would probably be better off being an OO for a good company.

Process agent is just a representative, make a phone call to one of the agency, pay the fee annually or join ooida( heard they will rep you for free). The process is really simple!!

    MrHarris504 Thanks this.

gonna go with the masses here, its easy to do on your own. Save that money, you will need it later. Also, ooida will handle process agents for you for free if your a member. Glad I did everything myself, helped me understand the process better.

    Freddy57 and MrHarris504 Thank this.
