I am having issues with getting a job because of a few suspensions. My license wasn't suspended for any traffic offense, but a result of an unemployed American unable to pay fines. Now these are from back in 2011 and 2012 and the 2 speeding tickets are from 2011. I have a fair driving record other than that, which I know those are bad enough. How ever they are the only 2 traffic offenses (other than seat belt tickets) I have had in 10 years. I am in NC, in the Hickory area. I just graduated from truck driver training with PTDI Certification. I would love to do flatbed or tanker, however I am not going to be picky about that. I know I won't start out at the top of the pay scale but I have to be kind of picky, as I have a wife and 2 small children and I want the pay to be worth my time away from my family. Any helpful tips or advice or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

See if you can get on a team operation running coast to coast & do that for 6 months:
WLA Inc.
Cooke Trucking Company
Hardy Bros. Inc.
Inman Trucking Co.
Benny Whitehead Trucking
If that doesn't work out then try these until the speeding tickets drop off which is usually 3 years for most trucking companies:
Paschall Truck Lines
Western Express
After this you should be able to get a good high paying tanker job making in the $55K - $65K pay range.
Keep this list:
SVTN
Schneider Bulk
CTL Transportation
Superior Carriers
Trimac -
I appreciate that and I will look into it. The good thing is that those tickets will drop off this year. Again thank you

I'm in Charlotte and in the same boat. My license was suspended because the Clerk of Court failed to process a fix-it ticket and it snowballed into a worse problem when the cops pulled me over for a brake light, then informed me that my license had been suspended several months.
The court rectified the mistake but the suspensions still stick. I failed to go to court because I didn't have the money for any fines and since my car died I didn't have a vehicle anyway. Of course, I wasn't thinking about a CDL job then. I was supposed to start school Monday but the school counselor said I should wait and submit applications to see if anyone is interested so can start training.
I have zero points and don't drink, smoke or done any kind of drugs. I wonder if there is hope. I got a tuition grant and want/need to get trained so I can work. Thanks.Chinatown Thanks this. -
I see companies wanting drivers that require no more than three tickets in last three years. In Michigan drivers are a dime a dozen good jobs are what is hard to find. The point is employers up here can been a little picker but from what I see they are not. May be not be paying very good. Maybe that will give you some encouragement.

Thanks very much. I am willing to do what it takes to drive even if it's not a "good" company. One man's trash could be this girl's treasure, LOL.
