    Yeah, that's an ugly scene.

May the driver's soul rest in the company of the Almighty.

Sorry Gulf. Your track record isn't established enough for me to give you a pass, so here I go:

Unless the DEAD DRIVER was drawing lines while he was approaching the toll booth, your statement is obtuse, benighted, nescient, and cretinous. (I made it easy for you. Only look up one word and you'll get the gist).

"immigrant paper loggers"---REALLY?? I go back to my previous 4 words.
The type of log one keeps does not make a driver safe or unsafe. It is merely a system of record-keeping. Some people do math in their head, some on paper, others on a calculator. Same difference.

A driver can die or kill with elogs just as easily as paper. I eschew paper logs. Somewhere on this forum you can read what I did with the log book hubby bought me. (he's the driver). BUT---there have been days I wish we were on paper, 'cuz I need a nap and I don't know how he doesn't. Well, he has times when he would like a nap. I tell him to take one and point out we can still make the OTD.

If you would spend some time reading the posts on this forum, you will hear numerous drivers feel compelled to "beat the clock" when they are on elogs and do a bad job of trip planning and slide over to the shoulder " 'cuz my 14 hr was up". They sound like 8yr olds when they say that.

"it used to be just about everybody"---REALLY?? You really think just about all the drivers were unsafe before elogs??? Please refer to my 4 word list once more.
You say you've been a trucker for 12 yrs. I don't believe you. I do believe you are misrepresenting yourself. You are not OTR. You are not O/O. No way. Your statement gives you away.

As for the Russians...your comments are unwarranted. They may be undercutting some freight rates, I don't know, but as for driving skills...I've seen no evidence that they aren't as good as the rest. Russians, Slavs, Poles have been in Chicago busting their behinds to make a living just like anybody else for 100 yrs. They haven't had the machismo feminized out of them like a lot of men in America. Get over it.

We all need strong, courageous, men in our lives to take back their families and their communities and this would stop the government steam-rolling over us.
