But there is no call for an investigation why Government (who provides NO help in the exploration, importation or production of OIL) taxes oil to almost the same level as the profit the Oil Companies make.

Why waste our tax dollars on this "Kenneth Starr" type of BS? Sure Exxon Mobil made $40 billion in profit.....But thats in an Industry thats wide spread.
If it was broke down to scale it would be inline with the rest of the manufacturing business globally.
Where our problems lie, is in crude oil being traded on the futures market, where it seems as if the wind blows the wrong way the price per barrel goes up, and for diesel and Gasoline, the outlandish state fuel tax that seem to never make it to the roads that they were intended for.......but sure does boost the general funds in a lot of states. THATS WHAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. -
let's face it . the U S is FULL of corruption !!!!

My question has remained the same since I first studied buisness law in school and discovered monopolies and anti-trust. Why is OPEC allowed to exist? We have broken up the phone co., Standard Oil, Microsoft etc. ,etc.. And yet the single greatest threat to the WORLDS economic stability is allowed to thrive and continue to inflict harm and damage globally! Blaming the oil companies is somewhat like blaming the match company for the forest fire. We don't let them build refineries, explore for oil, drill for oil etc.. Where do the beaurocRATS think the profit will go? To the bottom line of course. As close as this election seems like it's going to be, I am surprised that some wanna be hasn't brought this up! Or maybe the black helicopter people are closer to the truth than we think!
