Are you traveling on the Cross Bronx? be aware that the NYPD is cracking down on left lane usage. I know we all use it but lately they are warning truckers to stay out of the left lane. When traveling west/south you cannot use the left lane until 3rd ave. when traveling east after you cross the GWB you must get right over after the Alexander Hamilton Bridge... don't be the one to get ticketed...

Drive safe/smart... they are itching to write these, we have a new mayor who is trying to increase revenue...

Its' getting unreal that you can't even talk to these guys anymore its just auto ticket, had words with a traffic idiot as he wanted to write me for hooking up my tractor said I was blocking the street. No ticket issued but he was a real jerkoff.

Yeah I been noticing them alot lately too! I never run the left lane where its not allowed , my license is my bread and butter and I don't mess with it , never started any bad habits and never will , when the load gets there it gets there and no shipper or receiver will tell me otherwise as there is nothing in the back worth risking anybodys life including my own!

Funny, I just took the Cross Bronx earlier today and hopped in the left lane about a mile before the restriction ends (heading to GW). It's nice now. They've finally paved around all the storm drains and fixed it up a bit. Now that the god awful construction at the Major Deegan interchange, you don't have to jump into the left early to make sure you're over there when you approach the GW.

Oh well. No ticket for me. Will keep it in mind in the future.

I ran that a couple nights ago. Seemed like the left lane was "trucks only"... :D :D :D

Surprised my teammate wasn't tossed out of the bunk with some of those bunkers and potholes in the road.

I drive so slow across the Cross Bronx... potholes and bumps have you thinking your trailer has come unhooked

Unless I absolutely have to deal with the Cross Bronx Potholeway, I take 287 up through NJ across the Tappan Zee to the 95.

I only take the Cross Bronx heading to NJ because it's free (and shorter) to get to the Newark/Elizabeth/etc way. Even if headed to PA via I-80, you still save the truck-only toll on the 287 (why there's a toll there, I don't know, they practically want trucks to go straight through the city). Going east to CT, I always take 287 across Tappan Zee, even if it is $16+ for the privilege.
