Yea, that's the problem with a freight shaker shop...... anywhere. There slower than my grandmother, and she's been dead and buried 40 years now. Only place you'll get quick work by them is, your home town and if you do a lot of business with them.

Hi everyone. gamma, how are you this evening? What do you think so far about TransAm? I haven't seen ajacks on since you left for orientation. She knows that she is welcome here too, even if you aren't online at the same time, doesn't she? How is she doing since you have been away? We're here if she needs someone to talk to. Trucking is a family business.....it is not only a lifestyle for the driver but for his family also.

jaso, how are you tonight? I bet you can't wait to get home in May. When was the last time that you were home?

We are a little down ....this is the first time in a long time that the King hasn't made it home for the weekend. They gave him the option of coming home or some extra pay to deliver this load so he is staying out .....hopefully will be home in a few days.

Leaderone, are you on your first run? How are you doing? Who did you get for a DM?

Cranky Yankee's truck was repaired and he was back on the road this evening.

Just about everyone has checked in and is doing ok as far as I know .......except for honeybadger and oliver2. So, honeybadger, where are you and are you ok? Oliver2, how are you and George doing? When does school get out there? Will you go with George this summer?

Oops, I knew I was forgetting someone ....kf4omc, how are you doing? You haven't checked in for awhile.

i'm doing good everything has been good so far. they gave us the weekend off so nothing more will happen till monday when we have a written test over everything in orientation. then off to the trucks for practice. also ajacks is doing well.. just dealing with life at home kids, tee ball, ect, we have lost 2 in orientation so far, 3 iff you count the one who left before it even started. what suprises me is that out of 12 of us that are left i'm the only one who isnt planning on leasing

You are probably the only one that did his research before signing on with TransAm. You are a smart man, gamma .....and keep it that way. I know that you have young children at home and a wife that loves you and wants to be able to see you. There were several reasons that my husband and I chose TransAm when he first started driving. Like you, I started doing research on the various companies. At that time everyone was still on paper logs .....and I was amazed at the number of companies that pushed new drivers into agreeing to run illegally ....and then pitched them to the curb when they got caught. That did not and does not happen at TransAm ....they run legal. If you have a question about anything Dave Cole will always return your call and give you an honest answer. His number is on this thread ....write it down in your TA manual. The King used to go see him every once in awhile just to check in and see if there was anything he needed to improve on. Another reason that we went with TA was the guaranteed home time ...I can count on one hand the number of times that he wasn't home on the day that he was supposed to be. There were times that it was hard to get home time approved ....that was frustrating .....but we learned how to work the system a bit. Always put in for your home time the day that you come back on duty.....don't wait. The rule is that only a certain percentage of the fleet can be off at any given time, so always get your request in at the earliest possible time. There are certain times of the year that are hard to get your time approved ....one is coming up from the middle of May until the middle of June, ( lots of family reunions at that time and graduation ceremonies), and then of course, November and December. Pack accordingly during those times and be prepared to stay out a bit longer. If your time isn't approved on your first request, immediately bump it a day and put in a new home time request ...don't wait.

Hiya passport! How much longer to you have on your time off? Hope you are having a wonderful time. That surely is a beautiful part of the world.

Pete, how is the truck running? No more problems?

Well, I'm going to call it a night. Sleep well and safe travels everyone.

Hiya HTQ :hello2: I will be back stateside in exactly 2 more months. I meet back up with Ms. Passport later this week, then we will fly to Thailand together for a one month stay, then back here in the Philippines for another month. Then take the big plane back home to baseball and apple pie.

In the meantime, I changed to a new cottage (maid came today so I thought it was a good time to snap a few pics). It is up on the old volcano and I found a new friend.

Some local tropical fruits that grow right here in the garden. I like the first one Lanzones but I don't care for the second, Marang. The super strong pungent smell is too much for me.
