Left alone? I don't think so....every thing you do in that truck is monitored. Every turn, rev, idle, cruise setting, brake....all monitored and you WILL be brought in on the carpet if you do not drive the way the desk jockeys think you should. Mean while a small army of safety men are patrolling to monitor if you are driving the way they want and prowl over computer readouts to find new and inventive ways to write you up. (ifyou break 14.5 MPH in searcy, the safety man may spot it on the computer and issue you a step for speeding) You are on camera at every store, warehouse and hard brake. We really steer the trucks...we do not drive them.

Amen brother
As a point of fact; we have had drivers quit over these policies. Many of you on here encourage this....but if I have learned anything here...change is possible. They notice when we dig in hard. I will not run up the white flag. I will fight till they fire me. I will rage till they notice. Go down trying...don't just give up, fight for what you want.
Cal Wally and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
If you don't rock the boat, play their game, you are left alone. I am anyway.
drozzer69 Thanks this. -
You dont have to rock the boat its being rocked for you, with each of these new policies the chance of you ending up in the water goes up. Its the ones that you never see that will earn you the knife in the back.
We had a driver let go after a driving complaint from a local area store manager. The driver denied the accusation but because he had a previous step he was let go. Im not standing up for the driver he may well have been in the wrong. Im making the point that a career was ruined based on what that store manager reported. Every one of us knows that there are plenty of store pukes that would love to ice a driver because they think we are paid to much and we get our butts kissed more than they do. There was a day when our intergity was appreciated and our word was golden, now step out of line just once and you may find yourself on the street.
There is a word for people that are willing to take money and in return allow their values to be compromised. Its the oldest profession in the world and it fits well with the new Walmart. -
Please... then what is the alternative? Are you doing the same thing? You are still working there aren't you? I will keep working there and make good money for relatively easy work and support my family. If it becomes too much to bear, then I will go work for Western Express where it is a free for all and rebels are wanted.
I will leave the martyrdom to those that want it. As for me, I will keep #######(as implied) myself out to evil WalMart and make the good money. Keep on keeping on martyrs. -
Its not about me,its the bigger picture. Glad your happy on your back where Bentonville wants you. Im tired of seeing people stand up for a company that has hurt so many. Im in a good position but I dont feel secure, one mistake and it could all go away. If you dont understand that then there is nothing I can say. Go check out my new thread, maybe I can keep a good driver from making a mistake.

If you can find a time machine, then use it. It is what it is. Get over and stop whining.

Good convo Cal, no offense meant or taken!
Cal Wally Thanks this. -
Im going to let that one go. If thats what you get from my efforts to inform and spread the word then you really are missing the point. Everyone else for the most part has an unrealisticaly positive view because they have not known how it was. This is not about "whining" as an individual its about putting the bright lights on some very serious issues. Im fine and hold my own 23 years and well over 2 million miles and only a few to go. Life is good for me,wish I could say the same for the ones that have fell victim to the new policies.Chewey Thanks this.

See the above post Cal.... you get your digs in too.... relax. Keep doing what you personally need to do to face all this and I will too. In reality, none of these posts matter.
