If anyone can help me out I would appreciate it I took a mbn and put a platium 6nz cat rebuild kit in also along with a pdi stage one charger, 7cz 650 computer and the 800 hp marine cam. Truck made 45 boost and run at 750 egt after the turbo. It run for 300 mile then I got excessive blow by tore it down and seen number 5 cylinder completely scored 360 degrees the other cylinders look good except for having a few little marks on them up and down that u could not feel just see. I checks the piston cooler for that hole and it was perfect. Anyone have an idea on how or y it did this and what could be my fix so I'm not changing cylinders every 300 mile

I would have #5 injector checked. Maybe over fueled and washed down a cylinder? Was there any blueing like it got hot?

Did you pull the liner out yet? You didnt happen to roll a liner seal did you? That would make the cyl score.

This rings a bell from one of Mr Haney's threads. I believe the tune in the ECM and/or the injectors are just too much. I may be wrong, but I recommend you do some digging in the search menu for his posts about custom builds like yours and some of the problems encountered.

had the same issues as you with the same setup. thought it was a faulty injector- nope. to small of turbo (stage one) nope. if your trying to run high boost your pushing it to hard plain and simple. change the program for a little less hp and it should stay together. another issue could be not enough water flow. install a acert water pump and t-housing for higher flow to helg pull the heat away from the cylinders. I cured my issues by selling the truck after derating it. now I have a C-16 in a 99 kw. and a c-16 in a certain pete I just bought from the guru of cat.

We can't see those pics. I just went through this same thing. You have to edit your post, go into advanced, and then move the attachment to a lower box. Then it will put the pictures there. I know that you can click on it and boom the pictures are there, but we can't.
