Love's in Pueblo, deliver in Colorado Springs tomorrow morning. No load out...yet. Not surprised, I've found the Denver planners less than stellar and told their terminal as much one day.

    inkeper Thanks this.

Tifton, GA. Just poking along. Only have 830 miles left to go by 1800 Tuesday. Thought about washing the truck, then saw the weather map and decided, let mother nature wash it. Again at a Peelot and no Wi-Fi. Could just finish a break and get down to the t/a or J in Lake Park, but considering the time, just stay here.

    Petro in north Baltimore, OH

Hangin out here for a couple hours. Oddly enough my fuel re-op gave me a fillup here so I got to shower at the petro for the first time in a long while. I'm getting ready to hit the sleeper and my co-driver is picking up our next load out to IL.

    Hope you feel better wolfy!

Albuquerque shop took us in first thing this Sunday morning. The tractor stalled on the way to the shop from bobtail parking. THIS time they found an error code.

The guy in the shop said that one of the parameters in the computer that controls the DEF system wasn't set properly. It WAS 10 DECIMAL POINTS OUT OF SPEC!!!???? He reset the parameter, did a regen (which interestingly sounded like a normal idle instead of that high rpm idle I'd always heard during regen's) and now the truck seems to be fine, although we still need to get back under load to make sure.

Apparently whatever parameter was out of spec wasn't allowing the DEF system to regen and was then causing the DEF filter system to clog up, throwing off the PSI of the exhaust system. How this would result in hammering and misfiring cylinders I don't know, perhaps a more diesel engine literate forum member might clue us in on this one.

Meanwhile our load to Compton was t-called and we sat all day waiting for a dispatch. Likely will need to wait until tomorrow until our DM gets into his new digs in Jurupa Valley (Mira Loma/Fontana). Just got up to stay up all night to keep my "vampire shift" biorhythms going.

I would imagine that a clogged filter would increase back pressure in the exhaust system, and that might account for the hammering and misfiring.
It's pushing back, instead of letting through.

And, learn something everyday as the saying goes.
I guess I should stop complaining about my truck doing a regen every single day, sometimes twice. Maybe it is keeping things clean enough to avoid this problem.

And I'm less than a day away from home time, at a Pilot in IA.
I deliver at 0800 to IBM in Rochester, MN, then deadhead to Inver Grove to park my truck.
I'm keeping my mt this time and letting family shuttle me from and to the terminal.
I didn't want to have to find an mt, and wasn't sure if the Cub Foods across the street would let me park for 4 days.

thanks brocc, I feel a lot less achy today for sure, just got the lingering other symptoms now to brush off, hopefully will be much better by Tuesday morning since we are moving to a new home and I hate moving as it is.

first night in the week I didnt have to sleep away so dropped the mt at the dc then came to the flyingj for a hot meal and shower, now to watch the new episode of game of thrones i downloaded then get some sleep. Tomorrow heading to Grenada Hills then Fresno then off to home.

There must be some sort of target virus floating around because I woke up for my night shift feeling like crap with a fever and congestion as well as an achy body. I took some alkaseltzer plus cold meds and some ibuprofen and I'm at my 2nd stop waiting for the employees to get here now I'm feeling better but not 100% yet.

When I woke up feeling the way I did I immediately wiped everything down that I've touched with disinfectant wipes so hopefully my co-driver doesn't get it too although he's probably already been exposed to it.

being in small quarters for sure he is, also its present before the signs of symptoms. If he has a good immune system he might bypass it if lucky or get hit minimally.
