so what if the shipper doesn't use him again? they knew he was being overloaded.the amish are not stupid and i assure you they knew full well what each piece of lumber weighed.also why everyone keeps harping on the fact the he should have found a set of cat scales is beyond me.i am certain the OP knows what he should have done.any driver on here that has been driving a truck for a while has done things that they regretted after the fact.
I just used your post as one to quote and didn't single it out.Your note the the shipper may not use him again did need addressing imo as there are plenty of shippers that i have asked to not use me again over the years. the amish shipper knowingly got over on the OP,almost a ton is quite a bit to not be aware of,so the OP should write down that shipper's name/address in his book of places to not accept loads from.I keep one of those books for the bad to great shippers/consignees.it has paid off for me.

Well heres the deal so far i obviously have to pay the ticket company is not really
concerned about getting itnoff loaded or anything its not been 5 hours i have called and called and left messages and cant get a straight answer on whats going to happen besided that if te call a wrecker or whatever to off load the extra weight i will have to pay for thay as well supposedly there is a truck 30 miles from me empty but cant send it here to put extra
lumber on so im really dissapointed with the company right now seems like they just dont careNavigatorWife and Lux Prometheus Thank this. -
Ok, Just caught up again on all this.
Why will they not send the other trk. to help you.
I have had it happen to me and they sent another trk...
I gotta go but will check later to see how it turns out for you..
Best of luckMJ1657 Thanks this. -
Thats a good question they wont give me a straight answer and i told them i will not pay for someone to come out here and offload the lumber when i can do it myself it almost seems like its punishment for making the mistake by making me just sit here

1. Don't move that load! 2. Call your employer and let them deal with it. That's what they get paid for.
Lux Prometheus, bullhaulerswife and dog-c Thank this. -
Well since your company or anyone else doesn't seem to give a sheet about it but you, jump on craigslist under the free section and throw a come and get it add up after you figure out how much you need to get rid of. Bet youll be rolling in no time.
