They advertised that in 2007 when they last sold them.

The Cascadias advertised tight turning when in comparison to their competitors Volvo and International. But it is not so. The Internationals and especially the Volvos out turn even the short nose Cascadia.

Walmart supercube turns slow because - long chassis, long trailer, spread axle. Hard to maneuver because of large over hangs at rear and in front of Kingpin.

It is not the end of the world if you are running the freeway depot to depot like the muffin trucks, but for general freight it sucks and not even as practical as 48' turnpikes.

I can't believe they even contemplate having a 60ft trailer. That is 4ft shorter than our whole truck and single trailer combination. Stuff that. God a 75 ft combination is only 10.3ft shorter than b-double and we have 4 more axels on the ground

Walmart , did not invest as much money in to designing these 5 trucks(that they started with) just to waste money ! They do their job very well. Reducing one round trip every three trips , should be a 25% fuel savings (company is saying 23% ) . There are 57 feet trailers running now in western states , and know of a hand full of 60 footers in high cube apps . That state will allow any length trailer as long as total is under 65 feet , otherwise limited to 53' . The can plant loves them !
KT you would love the little Pete 320 they pull them with! Bumper to nose of trailer less then 5 '. Need to look one day at the drive shaft, 18 inches ?

It wasn't to waste money. It also wasn't made to haul 30% more freight or reduce fuel consumption by 30%. It cannot do that! Most truck drivers know that. Most Walmart loads do not cube out they scale out. The 30% increase in cube is only to provide visual impact to the political movement to increase trailer length to 60.5' in the US.

    Understand.

Hauling a load wild on a flatbed or running cars 3' over the edge of a wedge is different than the same length in a box.

Furthermore the loads have different requirements for maneuverability; you don't need to push a flat or a car wedge in a tight dock area to get unloaded. Most flat loads are driven straight to the construction sight to get unload. I could go on and on about the differences but you should get the point.

Walmart is just one of many shippers that want to put more stuff on a truck and to hell with everyone else. 60.5' trailer is just one step in that movement. That movement only harms the trucking industry

I think I seen one of your 362's with a wagon in crossville. I don't know how you parked those trucks at your house.
