The Australian export Argosy has all the emissions bs on them as we do ? It's one of the best sellers in that market . Built in NC . Just right hand drive. Cummins has some trucks testing there, with out EGR doing it all with DPF and SCR .

Stinger set-up is totally different. Turns totally different. K-P set-back means nothing in stinger steer because there is no set-back; Kingpin is at front of trailer: no set-back! It is called stinger steer for a reason. The stinger at the back of the truck turns the trailer tighter than a regular kingpin setup. It has nothing in common with the Walmart supercube.

Think for yourself. As stated before if Walmart was cubing out why don't they use and promote Canadian doubles, turnpike double, triples, B-trains, C-trains, rocky mountain doubles all of which are more efficient cube wise and weight wise than that supercube contraption. These trucks are all legal in various localities where that supercuble 60.5 is not. It should only be obvious that is the real goal of that supercube; to convince the feeble minded of the great efficiencies of 60.5' long trailers!

I do understand what you are saying about doubles, but let's be honest, you are not going to drop/unload, go back to breakup point, drop/ unload go back to breakup point, and then hook everything back up, and if you are concerned with getting that 60.5 into a WM, you surely can't be suggesting that they should drag turnpike doubles thru town and into the store parking lot to unload (even if it was legal).
With WM dock times and efficient use of personal, I just think that SC truck gives WM the best of both worlds, I can just imagine the confusion of trying to break up doubles get one trailer to dock and when all finished tell super that you'll be back in an hour with the "other one"! -
Actually, I use to do that with Target. I pulled turn pike doubles to Denver every day from Pueblo for a while. Then when they stopped, it was two trips to Denver. I went from an eight hour day to an eleven hour day. And yes, some stores you could easily pull a set into and break up.Toomanybikes Thanks this.

Understand you CAN do it, BUT if you had a truck like that Super Cube truck, would they still do it? I think that is what WM is thinking. -
I can't speak for Walmart, but when Target went to 53'ers, they hardly ever filled then up all the way.Toomanybikes and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this.

I have done doubles to store deliveries. I have pulled both pups and rocky mountains to stores and malls. Sometimes they really work out great. At a good box store with palletized load I can drop the pup, push the long in, run inside drop off paperwork, push the pup with dolly in and often by that time time pick up the long. I then hitch the long and drag it in front of the pup, hitch it, and by that time paperwork should be ready. All in all I have done it in 30-40 minutes time and did not have to sit around watch the fork lift. But that is a good store. There are plenty bad. But bad is bad with whatever trailer you have.
As far as Walmart. I see Walmart pulling turnpikes in CO, UT, and ID and busting them up in Merdian, ID and taking them to Hermiston, OR. I hear in NY they are doing store deliveries with turnpikes, and pushing there contractors to do the same. I have not seen that so it might be BS, although there are photos on the internet.
The company that runs the Supercubes for Walmart runs 53' turnpikes with mack conventionals elsewhere in Canada. 53' turnpikes with tandem dollies store deliveries are the norm in Canada.
I read and see photos that show the Supercube runs to stores with only the 53'. -
I never thought NA automotive industry could produce this kind of crap (freightliner powerliner dissection report)

On the latest Argosy there were little changes except for the larger grill area.
This was due to the need for the fitting of extra cooling capacity for the emission Crap.
