All the ones talking about blaming Fed Ex are the same ones who would be doing the same thing if it was a Swifty that hit the bus.

I hear you. I watched a bus whiz past me on 74, East of Champaign, Il. It was snowing. Everyone else is running slow. How did he miss the memo? No crash, thankfully. He must've polished his 4 leaf clover.

I worked for a contractor (o/o) for fedex ground from 2001 to 2006.. This truck was a fedex freight truck ( completely different). These trucks are governed probably around 65mph.. I don't think speed was a factor in this even if he was driving 65mph. Fedex ground trucks are not owned by fedex, that's why they will go; however, when I was there, they had a policy that said if you received a speeding ticket for over 75mph, it was automatic termination. I can't speak for "Freight" but "Ground" has really gone down hill over the years... BTW, all you haters who constantly complain about getting your doors blown off by a fedex truck, has it ever occurred to you that maybe you are going TOO SLOW???? I don't see the problem with pulling doubles at 75mph, I did it for 5 years and never had an incident...you have to be smarter than the machine, most drivers are not.

Smarter than the machine? How about Common sense, Pull over and rest when needed. I would not be the first driver to nod out from being too tired to drive....Drivers can save lives just by admitting they are too tired to drive.

I agree 100%! That's not what I meant, taking a curve that's posted 55 at 75 is what I call being outsmarted by the machine...common sense for you or me comes easily... But unfortunately for the great majority it does not.

Right on as always bud....green / ground are contractors, others are co. or lease operators. This was a freight guy by the colors on the wagon.

The GO team will get to the bottom of this real quick.....regardless tho, we all will get a black eye.

I read something about a car that was wrecked that FedEx side swiped apparently trying to miss it and that is a possibility why he ended up across the median...I guess will find out eventually if ever...

FedEx has had a bad month...this is the 3rd major wreck in as many weeks involving injuries and/or fatality...ouch.

    No. Please elaborate.

That's the problem with experience as a teacher, it can teach exactly the wrong things, and the positive reinforcement just keeps on comin'. "I been doing it all day every day for 20 years and that's the first time THAT ever happened!"

    Oh, touché !
