At the Albuquerque terminal....again. On my way to Flagstaff for a drop then home. I'm so fried that I didn't even try to get something from Flag to Phoenix. Gonna park the truck then act like it and Swift do not exist for 4-5 days.

I walked down to the Blakes on Coors for a Lota Burger with green chili. I know it's been a while since I had any NM green chili but I don't remember it being that hot, least not at Blakes. Still, it was a good burn and I enjoyed the treat.

42K in the box and 7 MPG from Ft. Worth to here. I'm pleased considered it's uphill all the way.

I will be in Goodyear Sunday. Crossroads is back open again. Curious to see how it was remodeled after all of this time.

Halfway through home time. Been chilling out at home since Tuesday evening and scheduled to get back to the coast to coast gig on Monday. Went to the DMV in Hemet to start standing in line just after 6:00 am and was still #14 in line waiting for them to open at 8:00 am. Took all my endorsements and passed, then up to Colton to get fingerprinted for the HazMat. Will be good to have all that out of the way (but then on for the TWIC).

Really nice to be roasting in this heat in SoCal. Got to whack all the weeds down tomorrow, otherwise we get a visit from the friendly government weed whackers and get billed for the privilege. Part of the wildfire suppression effort. Weird that each year a different kind of crop comes out of this hardscrabble ground. Last year it was a bumper "crop" of various wild sages (that also made a bumper crop of bunnies), while this year it all seems to be some kind of sparse mustard.

I hope you did a proper pre trip inspection on your fire extinguisher.... :D :D :D

Green chilis, unlike jalapenos do not punish you twice. They also have an actual flavor, not just burn.
One of the best things about New Mexico. Here green is hot and red is mild.

Muscatine, IA, parked at the Walmart.

I got that same dead pplan once more a few minutes after my last message, which I ignored again.
Got another a bit later, backed up by a second.
It picked up about 15 miles from Inver Grove terminal and was t-called here at our little drop yard.
Then I picked up another load from there, headed to Bradley, IL for a live unload at 1800 tomorrow night. All of 200 miles for this load, 500 total.
So it's an easy day and a half, and I hope I get something out of there tomorrow night. The TA will be full up by 2000, and I'll have at least 6 hours left on my clock.

Hey squeak I was granted the usual practice of dropping that Walgreens load at the DC. They wasn't too happy about that but it was either that or I run out of time on my clock.

Sitting in Joplin on my way to Walmart Grocery DC in Pauls Valley OK to deliver tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to dealing with the weekend crew but I hope I get something going home to El Paso.

took a load to Grenada Hills and then to Riverbank Modesto, shut down at a rest area about 20 miles north of Visalia with 2min left on the clock, later today I go to Valencia then Yussen in Long Beach and a local Bakersfield store.

Also spoke to the site manager during my 30min break about the ect/planner position thats open, the other planner told him I was asking about it so he approached me asking what I wanted to know so I got a lot of details, guess so far one other driver and a couple outside of Swift has applied and it will be open for 2 weeks before he narrows apps, he said working there does not guarantee being picked but it could help since he looks for "compatibility" with the drivers on the fleet. All I can do is wait and see, he said its a good way to start working up within the company and IF I was able to get it I would be a "casual driver" and can pick up loads on my days off as long as it doesnt effect office hours.
