I'm sure neither of these choices are stellar, but these are the offerings right now
We reside in San Diego, CA... Hubby has job offers with both... We would like to know from those with first-hand experience or reliable knowledge.
We've heard good, bad, and ugly for both...
What is your take?
Thanks in advance for any info.![]()

Not sure about Earl but Marten has regional options if you're into that . I think they still have OTR but from what I understand, if you live in say the southeast then you'll run everything east of I-35. Out for 2 weeks then home for 2 days.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
From what I've read, Marten is a good company, but the teams get the best runs; strictly a good business decision.
Navajo doesn't run teams, so even their coast-to-coast runs are solo drivers which is good. They have a terminal in Chino.
Edit : How long has your husband been driving?
Does he have any endorsements?
What type trucking is he interested in? -
He's got 3 1/2 years experience, but he had an accident in May 2011 and he got terminated from his last company: "company policy violation" --speeding.
That's what keeps a lot of doors closed.
Edit: He does not have any speeding tickets or citations.
He does have endorsements for Hazmat and doubles, though no experience with doubles.Last edited: Apr 11, 2014

Try KKW, Northern Refrigerated, Navajo, Tru-Line.
Submit some online applications so the company has something to look at.tbrown_sd Thanks this. -
Try TWT out of Spokane, Wa. Reefer, W. Coast, yard in Bloomington, Ca. AND, they load bananas right there in S.D. all the time !

Weren't they having difficulties around this time last year...letting drivers go/laying them off?
Also, in regard to the two companies I mentioned earlier, and this one, how do they pay miles? Practical...? Other...? -
I actually worked for Henderson in '05/'06 doing Regional, which, at that time was Ca./Az. I lived in Murietta, Sun City and was home weekends. Then I moved to Kingman and they moved their drop lot to Kingman about a week later. Just 5 blocks from my house ! How sweet that was. I liked Henderson, no games with pay or anything. But, this was in '06, things may be different now.

Thanks Allow Me. It seems to be really difficult to get info on these two companies - from a personal or recent perspective! How did Henderson pay miles when you were there? Was they practical? Living in San Diego, what type of runs do you think my husband would be getting? Do they have regional out this way?
-
I drive for henderson now. Henderson pays practical miles. Which can shred anywhere from 50 to 200 miles off the actual miles. My biggest issue with henderson is after I deliver a load I wait too long before getting my next one. It could be 24 hrs before you get rolling again. Sometimes even longer. This happens about a third of the time. currently looking elsewhere to work im tired of it, but I think team drivers are priority here. When they do give you a run it is usually over a 1000 miles though. They give you big runs but after delivery is what's been bothering me. Henderson does regional. Esp. The SW part of the country.
