They left Werner on Friday and no the truck is not theirs.
They will be back for another outfit starting the 23rd this month.

    About Visas and working permits.

There´s ways to get around.. an Investors visa is one...with 100000 deposit the last time I checked... also it´s best for one to get a lawyer specialising in these matters and do the work for you.... while the process is going your´e allowed to work..
Now that might answer all them illiterate immigrants.

But If one is going to work in the USA prepare for it for the long run..and possibly retire in the US too.

Now The thougth of taking a Scania for example over to US ( in fact there´s been a lot of talk about it over here)..well that would be some sight for American truckers... especially when that alien looking and V8 equipped rig blows their doors off...:biggrin_255:

Seems them Cabotage laws are same allover.

European cabotage regulations force drivers to return to their home country empty. How inefficient is that?

    http://www.portfolio.com/news-markets/national-news/ap/2008/04/07/eu-may-liberalize-truck-industry

The EU transport ministers agreed that beginning in 2014 trucks should be allowed to take cargo to another country and to make three extra trips within that nation to pick up and deliver local goods there.
But the trucks still would not be permitted to pick up cargo and take it back home. And that limitation led the Netherlands, Britain, the Czech Republic and Ireland to air misgivings about the plan. They said it would still keep too many trucks driving home empty, which goes against the EU's ambitious goals of slashing carbon emissions.

Whoever wrote that article, does'nt know anything about euro-trucking laws!

As a Danish O/O i have a permit, that gives me the right to take Cabotage loads anywhere within EU, plus Norway, Island and Lichtenstein.
Every O/O in EU have this permit.
Basically it gives us the right to take loads from anywhere to anywhere, within the EU.
The only limitation is that international transports, are limited to 40ton (88000lbs) total. In Denmark where im from, the national limit is 48ton (105600lbs).

There is no law, that says we must drive empty on the way back to our home country!.

Well i hat to think that one of these Euro trucks would ever blow the doors off a US truck. Unless they are better than the ones i have drove over here in Iraq. I have drove the mercdes the scania, Mann and the Iveco and belive me they could all learn something from a good Detroit or Cat motor they may have big legs over in Europe but but the ones they have here are gutles wonders for sure.

The new M.A.N. TGX V8 has 680hp and 3000nm. but.. it costs dkr 900k ($180k). Its the most powerfull Euro-truck.
Second is the Volvo FH16 (660hp).

Non of our trucks have sleepers like the US trucks.. a us trucker that comes to Euro-land, would think we are kidding him.. driving for a week at a time, away from home, in a truck that only has 2 seats and a bed, no extra room for anything at all..:biggrin_2551:

My next truck will be a US Volvo VT880 (in my dreams :))

Its just that it does'nt make any sense.. i have the law-books, and i looked it up again.. it is clearly stated that we are allowed to take loads from anywhere, to anywhere, within the EU (+ Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein).
And, in my experience it happens all the time.. for example, they guys driving fish from Denmark to Spain, usually drive fruits (oranges) on the way back.. there have never been any law agains this, as far as i know, so i dont undersdtand those articles?
The only limitation is that O/O's from Poland, Latvia and Hungary are not allowed to do Cabotage driving, in the rest of the EU untill 1may 2007. This was when my lawbook was written, im pretty sure they are now allowed to do Cabotage, like any other EU O/O.

Im confused what these articles are dealing with??
