- Saturday: Isolated severe storms are possible from parts of southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois southwestward through Iowa to southeast Nebraska, northwest Missouri and Kansas. Large hail and localized damaging wind gusts will be the primary concerns.
- Sunday: A more widespread area of severe storms is expected from the mid-Mississippi Valley to the southern Plains. Within this larger swath, the threat of severe weather will be enhanced from north-central and northeast Texas to the eastern half of Oklahoma, western Arkansas, southwest Missouri and southeast Kansas. Very large hail, damaging wind gusts and some tornadoes are possible. In addition, excessive rainfall could trigger localized flooding from northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin to southeast Iowa and northern Missouri.
- Monday: Lingering severe thunderstorms possible along the cold front in the South, including portions of Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. Locally heavy rain may trigger flash flooding, since much of this areas is still saturated from heavy rain earlier this past week.

And now to spread the joy! .....It's not nice to pick on the Little People!

After a taste of spring to end the week, the Rockies and Midwest are going to flip to a wintry feel as colder temperatures dive south this weekend into early next week. In fact, there will be just enough cold air in place to result in wet snow accumulations in parts of these regions.

[h=3]Wet Snow Ahead[/h]This next snow event will initially target the Rockies and the adjacent Plains.
Snow or rain changing to snow is expected in parts of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, northeast New Mexico, western South Dakota, western Nebraska and western Kansas Saturday night into Sunday night. Some snow will also be possible as far south as the Oklahoma Panhandle and the northern Texas Panhandle Sunday night into Monday. The National Weather Service has issued winter storm alerts for portions of the Rockies.

Snow is expected to fall in the Denver metro area Sunday after seeing temperatures in the 70s to end the week. Accumulations of 3 inches or more are possible depending on the intensity of the snowfall and how much melting occurs. The weight of the heavy, wet snow could lead to some broken tree limbs and localized power outages. Slushy accumulations are possible on roads when heavier snow rates occur, particularly on bridges and overpasses. Mountain locations to the west of Denver could see up to a foot of snow.
There is some chance that this same weather system could bring snow or rain changing to snow to parts of the Upper Mississippi Valley and northern Great Lakes regions Sunday night into Monday. This includes locations from northern Iowa and southern Minnesota to Wisconsin and northern Michigan. Some light accumulations are possible within this corridor, however details are uncertain due to warmer April ground temperatures. -
