I have a ps4 on a 1500w inverter. The only time I have an issue is if I start the truck. It will turn the ps4 off and I have to do a system check when turned back on. The apu starting doesn't effect it at all.

Im looking into this too I called Verizon and their mifi "jetpack" is 200 for the device and 10 per gb. Im going to try Sprint to see if they have an unlimited hotspot deal because I have no idea how much im going to use on the road. Just sitting on YouTube I know I can eat up 10gb in a week. To use wifi at a truck stop you usually have to pay like 5 bucks and I doubt its very good.

To my knowledge, Sprint and most other carriers separate hot spot data and phone data. For Sprint, and most others, there is a limit of 5 gigs even on their unlimited plan. Verizon, which I dislike very much, combines hotspot and phone use. So, depending on your use, you may be better off with Verizon over Sprint if you use the hotspot for videos, downloads, and gaming.

    Yes it's a TK.

Trust me, I've tried all the carriers. Verizon, hands down, has the best coverage for 4g. With sprint, once you get out of any major city, you're done. Also, as far as I know, verizon is the only one that doesn'tthrott le you once you hit so many gbs.

There is a thread here somewhere with a link to a company that sells hotspots that use verizons network. Each hotspot has a 20 gb limit, so once you reach that, it's done till your next billing cycle. I don't remember the monthly cost but it was substantially cheaper than verizon. If you need more than 20 gb a month, you have to purchase a second hotspot.

Search for millenicom wireless on this site. You will find a few threads about it.

For those having power issues when starting the truck or having the apu start up, just get a small apc battery back up power supply. Will continue to supply power to what's plugged in while the inverter cuts out.

If you have a true sine wave inverter, that'll work. My old APC would NOT go into standby mode on a modified sine wave (aka cheap) inverter.

    TexTrucker Thanks this.
