I starting to miss YRC more and more, if it wasn't for the pension plan I would've gone back already... But at The same time I dont miss only going 62 mph

Yes because the package guys dont want to lose their seniority by switching to a feeder position. Heck if it's offered by me I might make the switch. Unless I get another gig (non trucking related) or if YRC brings back the pension. I don't want to work till I'm 100 lol

I'm still on the fence with going with YRC, I am with an out fit now that I bring home $1,100 a week. M-F, ok it's 65 hours but I don't mind working. I don't need the benefits since I'm retired from a City job. I'm just concerned with being "casual" and not getting enough hours and being able to pay the bills, heck being casual I can't even count on a dedicated start time in order to get a part time job to make up the difference, then if I did, I most likely will be right back doing 65 hours a week between two jobs. I worked for Yellow in the early 90's as a part time dock worker. So I know if the Road driver position is casual then I can't count on hours and days. The Term manager said he was loosing several drivers due to retirement but couldn't say if I would get hours......So do I stay where I am or go. My background is complete and all that is left is a Road test, I even filled out the tax forms already

I'd say stay where you're at. Seems like a decent deal.

If you need to have set hours then stay where you are. Most LTL can't guarantee start time hours for a new driver

I also agree that you should stay where you are. YRC isn't nearly as good as it once was.

Well i had a phone interview yesterday with the company again... I'm going to call the shop steward there during the week as he's a friend of mine from when I was running the road to the terminal. It's a city position so I'll have to bust my butt but I'll have a life again and a less stressful environment. I've spoken to my old co-workers and none of them seems to be telling me not to return so maybe it's a sign.

UPS is stressful and way out of wack with union crap. Andy keep trying for ABF, If not go back to home ( YRC ).

OD still looks like a great alternative. Just bothers me about no OT after 8. We all know, it's very hard to do just 8 and skate.

Good luck and keep us updated.
