no its not quickpay, its just mercer policy, they pay as each load is delivered. I have my bills scanned and sent in before I leave the delivery location. and with our load board having internet access by phone or laptop is very handy tool to have.

Because not everyone is equipped, willing, or able to use anything but an all in one solution. I/T is littered with all sorts of single solution products.

Also could be a security/data control angle. Not anything I'd be particularly worried about, but big companies would have a dedicated security person or department thinking up all kinds of ways to justify their existence.

one big reason is this, with trip-pak each transaction is saved on your computer and saved at trip-pak with a transaction code, if there is ever a problem with paperwork not being received you can reference that transaction number and have it retrieved even after several weeks, its gives you proof that you sent the item.

its actually all about a paper trail and proof od sending.

but then I keep all my old bills of lading, I have been with mercer since feb 2011, I have the original or a copy of ever load I have delivered for mercer, in fact I have file boxes of loads I hauled 15 years ago even, I also have every e-mail I have sent or received on my business e-mail saved by computer since 2003.

its also why I pay Verizon a little extra each month for detailed billing, get a customer say I didn't stay in contact or call them for whatever reason?? I can access every phone call made to and from my phone , and give them the time , length of call, and numbers I called. this comes in handy when meeting crane appointments and such. also taking a cell phone picture of the customers place will also help prove you are there or were there on time.

its called CYA, that's why trip pak in cab

what scanner is everyone using? or what scanner is recommended? I'm thinking about investing one to put in my truck. I dropped a TripPak envelope in Barstow, CA at the T/A and it never made it to Werner payroll. There's always a line a mile long at the truck stops for the scanner and at the Werner terminal. about tired of this nonsense. Need to be more efficient.

we're using the Qualcomm with the MCP200 OS.

my phone's camera apparently doesn't work sufficiently for the TripPak app. I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 and i can never get my photos above 30 quality. You need 40 quality to submit. that's why I asked what scanner to use.

Any inexpensive all in one printer ought to do the job plus let you print stuff. After my 2nd HP bit the dust, I got a Canon with a feeder on the scanner. Awesome for a stack of bills on a multi stop load.

I have the galaxyS4.. and at first I had trouble with getting a good picture... the trick as someone said earlier is a black background.. and good lighting... I got one of those led light sticks.. now with a steady hand I can get the pics accepted.

Husband had the trip scanner in his old truck at Prime; he now uses his phone, a Motorola Atrix that is at least
2-2 1/2 yrs old. He has done ok on the phone so far, he is not a computer or play with the phone savy, but so far has done ok. If for some reason a page doesn't go through right they call him. He does not like the loads with 13 more or less pages though, but you know how that goes.

Either is convenient to get the load in before payroll cutoff esp if you are in the sticks and no T/S in sight for 50 miles and you don't want to move and break your 10 or 34 off, you also don't have the long lines to go into the T/S to send or mail by trip pak.

another reason to use TripPak in cab is because I dropped one of my envelopes at a TripPak in Toelle, UT and payroll never got it. Its already been 2 weeks. TripPak lost it.

Still havent been paid for it and they cant get the consignee to fax a copy of the bill of lading over. only 60 miles, so not gonna worry about $15.

but dont ever trust dropping it in the box. its not guaranteed.
