Well at least you don't have to worry about survivors.
The nun's have it covered. They are in Paradise with the Lord, and living the Good Life.

Next time remember the potential energy that 3 MPH can relate to in kinetic terms.
It's not simply linear, it's exponential.

The next time it might not be a group of believers.
It could be Pagans bound for Hell.

The ATA and truckload carriers assoc, swift being members of each and y'all's fearless leader jerry being a higher up in each group are 2 of the biggest players in lobbying the DOT ,FMCA and congress to force speed limiters on all commercial trucks. I guess they want to slow everybody down to their speed to "level" the playing field. Anybody with any since at all knows that traffic is much safer when all vehicles are traveling at or near the same speed whether it's 50 or 80. IMHO this whole speed thing is a crock of crap!

I try to forget, but then these kinds of posts seem to remind me.
And then I get postal about it.
    Just having fun, however.
    Sorry.

And the pay has nothing to do with it.
I have never done anything, for my entire life, just for the money.
    It's just too shallow.

    I dare anyone...

Sorry, but an 80k truck is not just as safe as a 3k 4-wheelie at the same speed.

Especially with the stupid big rig drivers I see out here every day!

I don't think they will ever have all commercial trucks at the same speed . Lol
    especially for say like O/O's:biggrin_25512:

They might try , but pretty sure they will fail , because people are just not gonna put up with it.

people won't put up with it?? LOL. It will take the trucking industry as a whole standing against it and I'm sorry but it's a SOB to just get 5 truckers to agree on a topic much less the industry as a whole. What about all the swift drivers doing 62 mph y'all are "putting up with it". Me , I don't give a crap how fast or slow I go, the fact is though I want it to be my choice. I worked for central and no problems with their speed but it was different, they did not drive you crazy about over speed as long as your over speed percentage was less than 5% if you drive and run like a normal driver this was never a problem.

    tangerineGT Thanks this.

to a point, I agree but there's a lot more idiot four wheeler drivers out there that make their little jap trap cars as much or more dangerous than our rigs. I've had to give up my obvious right of way many times to avoid getting tangled up with them.

    tangerineGT and Moosetek13 Thank this.
