Wow. And here I thought everyone knew of and was using findfuelstops.com. Got that from Terry when I started. I wont even start a trip until I have my fuel stops planned the entire route.
Bomb.... Yeah, I knew what it meant. I was using that in the early days of the internet. Back in the BBS and NNTP days. Anyone remember those?

Maybe....
I doubt it. Kissing ain't my thang
Jarhed1964 Thanks this. -
Wrong. Expenses aren't paid until that trip is settled. If I don't turn in a trip, my fuel and whatnot doesn't get charged to me until I do turn it in.
As far as repairs go, that's what the maintenance account is for.
You misunderstood my statement about having a trip held back. There is no way I would touch my savings because I'm in the shop for 3 days. I simply meant by having a trip extra for a cushion will make up for that down time. It's always nice to take 1 or 2 weeks of and have all the JCT bills paid for and get a paycheck while not working. -
Yep. I knew about that the truck stops close by, but if I can park at a receiver and get unloaded without having to start my clock, then I rather do that. I also eat out of my truck. Every now and then I will treat myself to a good dinner. Last night I had t-bone steak with mashed taters and gravy and steamed squash and zucchini with strawberry cheese cake.
Why park at the truck stop, start my clock, go unload, go back to truck stop and sit. If for some reason I don't get a preplan that day then I wasted that time and will hurt on the recaps later on down the road.
Were as, I park at the receiver, go check in and all that bs, and if I don't get off loaded early, then oh well. Then, if I get offloaded the next day as per the appointment time, and if for some reason, I don't get a preplan or get load that picks up the next day, then bam!!! I just got me a legal restart on the books and time to run like crazy.
Gotta make the e-log work for you, not against you. -
How far do you need to travel to set off the e-log???

25 mph or 2 miles down the roadwonderdog24 Thanks this.

I do not understand people that have issues with autos. I spent 4 years in a Pete with auto-shift. I bought it that way and absolutely loved it. Never gave me a moments issue. I sold it with 470,000 miles, and it was still running strong. I won't think twice about owning another one.

Hey quick question for ST, Cyclone, D-love and the others. I have read back in ALL of your blogs. The average MPG that I have seen was somewhere around 7.0-7.5 MPG. Just out of curiosity and please ALL answer is what speed are you running as an average. As an O/O, I had a 2009 Cascadia and ran an average speed of 66 MPH on cruise and could never do better than 6.5 MPG. Now I know that JCT's truck are set at like 68 if my memory serves me right. My sweet spot in my truck seemed to be around 1450 rpm's. Thanks.

I drive 55-58 when I can. I try not to exceed 1300 rpms. My fuel economy is at 7.87 for the month of April. 7.39 for the year. The average for the life of the truck (104000 miles) is 7.21. My economy is getting better and better.MachoCyclone and Jarhed1964 Thank this.

I had an 09/10 and fuel while the original owner of the truck started off in the low 7.0 area that vanished early 2010 after an firmware update to the ECM relating to emissions was installed. After that he and subsequently I had difficulty averaging over 6.5 and the same was true for many if not all of the 09/10s on the JCT fleet. The unfortunate thing about the update is that once it was installed there was no way to uninstall the update.
