Any results when used on diesel engines. Any power/mpg gains?
guru23231 Thanks this. -
There are people that swear the power strokes get a big improvement with some aditive for striction, Cat made the fuel system, I went to their course on the 3126 never heard of them saying anything about needing an aditive, Ford gets their injectors from Standidine, they say it works good enough for me. That is not my specialty.
I was involved with a test of Synthetic oil when the N14 first came out, they had a lot of injector and pass thru connector problems, so we were in the engines a lot. The synthetic Test was a dismal failure, the engine were full of a jelly, the blocks had a coating, the bearings were worn a lot more, they got no better fuel milage, than the rest of the trucks doing exactly the same job spec'd exactly the same.
If an aditive does something a dyno should prove it.
Like Cat says buy clean fuel and keep it clean, no wear does it say put in something someone wants to sell you, that the seller will not pay for damages caused by there product or downstream damage.
What ever an oil change costs you is cheap compared to down time and an overhaul.
Information is what everyone wants to make the very best decisions you can make. Puting an air filter in that is 85% efficient compared to a stock one that is 99% is anouther one that amazes me.
Just a thought!russtrucker and guru23231 Thank this. -
I use Motion Plus on my fleet. Its not thick at all and they did friction test in front of me and man it really works. I had a bud that had a valve noise on his truck, and it was gone after putting some Motion Plus. The truck ran for 2 month before he sold it. Its a bit pricey but worth it.
Lucas for me, its just a thick honey in your motor that chokes it after a while.
Here Motion Plus in action, this company name phirefly enterprises re bottle motion plus into their on bottle named frictionless to charge a $10 more per bottle and before motion plus was brought to the U.S. But its the same product.

The whole thing about these additives is how do you know what it will do after it has been in the engine for a month and been heated and cooled 30 times.
If the product works then it will be able to prove it, as I posted earlier put it on the dyno, do they cover damages if there product fails?
This may be the greatest product in the world, BUT there have been hundreds of others that like Speedway corporation product Red dye and mineral oil.
Just a thought! -
Ah yes, the great Timken friction testing machine! Now that is science in action. I wouldn't consider that for any proof of anything except a con game. But it gets used all the time to show folks things regarding oils and additives and they buy it. Take a look at this vid about the Timken "One Arm Bandit" testing machine like was used in the link about Motion Plus product. This vid proves that normal Head and Shoulders Shampoo can be manipulated to show being slicker than high quality synthetic motor oil!
This was done by Amsoil. I don't use their stuff in my trucks so there is no disclosure required that I have a vested interest in this stuff. But the vid is fascinating.

Thanks for that link cowpie, that was very interesting.
The only time I have seen one of those machines used was 12-13 years ago at the J in LaSalle, that clown from motorkote was in there demonstrating his snake oil. -
