Thats the hill assist feature. On the older auto's you had to 2 foot to start on hill.

Yes they do make auto with no clutch back when I was an O/O I had a peterbilt 387 auto-shift with no clutch and I pull a tank for enterprise transportation from there NJ terminal to Wisconsin down to Texas and all point in between and I loved it.. If I ever decided to become a truck owner again I would buy another auto-shift in a heart beat.

It made me feel comfortable on the road.. I Just worried about loading and unloading of what ever products I was hauling and being safe..

Some die-hard gear heads are going to say its junk but until you have driven one for awhile thru different weather and cities its going to be hard to have an opinion either way..

    Cheers

Been pulling liquid bulk in an auto shift for awhile now. Love it. No issues. Thought I wouldn't like it when I got the auto shift. Took a few weeks to get used to not reaching fir the gear shifter or the clutch. But YOU do have complete control of what gear you want in it. Just by pushing a single button.

I pull tanks an I'm in a older freightliner with the smart shift. It's not as advanced as the new autos but it works. Just gotta be good with the throttle control to get the shifts down right.

Yes mostly when the tank was empty but I prefer manual mode because I felt more in control also in case I needed to slow down faster.. In my opinion it just takes time to get use too..
