To answer your question, I don't think they make anything like what you're looking for.
At one time I did see a product that was designed for the very problem you're facing. I tried to find it on the web, but couldn't. Basically it was two small speakers that fit around the back of the seat right by your head. You could use both your am/fm stereo and your CB through these speakers. I remember seeing one in a truck stop when I was teaming and almost bought it.
Multi-Jack headphones?

Scarecrow, big duker, I guess you guys did everything by the book? No log fudging.. never drover over the speed limit... didn't drive once over your hours? I can go on until we find something here.
Wearing some headphones is the least of anyones worries seeing some of the guys out there. It works for Wind here and I'm sure it works for others too. He's just asking a simple question.. looking for a simple answer. Either answer him by saying yeah.. so-n-so company has em, or leave the guy alone. No one wants to be called stupid for something so small.
Back to whats on hand here, I would like to know as well. I've always wondered if there were a headet type of deal for team drivers. Like a wireless headset that has an adapter to plug into your ext. speaker jack. -
Try Crutchfield. They have about every thing to do with mobile electronics. I'm sure with all the SUV's that have a screen and separate game port for 10 kids someone has what you are looking for.
-
No, I've not done everything by the book and I wasn't trying to say that I did. All I was saying is that wearing headphones is not at all wise. Plain and simple.
As far as answering the question, I just did.

I'm sure back when I was skipping across the desert in triple digits with as many chicken lights burning as I could afford the week before wasn't all that wise. But it worked for me and I wasn't alone.
We're all on the same field in one way or another. I've ran too fast just about everywhere, fudged books, you name it. I won't deny.
I just don't see headphones as that big of a deal. Hell I can't halfway hear the radio in the Petercar I'm in now, much less the past 2 I have owned. A car horn either for that matter.

Thanks I tried Crutchfield and the closest thing they have is this:

I am getting closer! Thanks.
Oh and thanks Pete, I thought I walked into the "Perfect Truckers" forum for a second there. -
There are headphones that you can use which are open-air design, meaning you can hear your surroundings if you don't turn up the music so high.

Why not just get earplugs for the guy in the sleeper?
The foam expandable ones are pretty cheap. -
Man I absolutely can't sleep with ear plugs in. I tried when I was on both aircraft carriers. Then when my ex snored worse than any trucker any of you have ever met. Never worked out.
-
I wear earplugs myself but some people are just finicky sleepers and need total silence. I try to be considerate so that my partner gets the proper rest he needs. That way when it is my turn to jump in the bunk I will sleep soundly.
If I get a real complainer running with me I have no problem telling him that the hood of the truck says "Freightliner" not "The Hilton".
