When I was OTR and I parked before 5pm I'd get the closest spot to the building I could. Maybe it's some weird conspiracy in my head but I felt like the wireless connection for the internet was better, I'm guessing it's because I was closer to the router. If I'm spending 2-3 weeks on the road at a time and I'm mostly in a different country, I'm parking wherever I please so I can utilize the internet and keep in touch with loved ones. Bet it just burned some of you guys to see my expedite truck taking up a spot lol

    lol,Yeah thats a good one!!:biggrin_25525:

I'll bet most guys dont park at those coops cause they feel intimidation..

Like the Highway Patrol or DOT will come walking back there and wake em up for an inspection....

Waiot a Second..Did I Just say "Wake them up"??

Maybe, If they woke some of these users up..They Might have something to say to law enforcement...

    What do you all think?

It's still around, however, I'd say that it's passed the point of rehashing it entirely. Call it nostalgia, at this point.

Summary is, I made a simple error in explaining something through my inebriated behavior, specifically on shifting (mentioned tapping the clutch brake periodically through down shifts) and was met, pleasantly with AN ARMY OF DETRACTORS after I woke up, sober. I decided admitting was a sign of weakenss in the face of the hilarity that was to be had and the situation snowballed.

All in all, it was funny but ruffled a few feathers. Mack said he would never employ me, I said I would never work for him, and I think everyone just left it at that.

    10/10 would troll again.

I'm bored at home, I don't have a social life because I'm working all the time, ergo I drink alone. Sad, but true. I get honest when I drink, which isn't good because I'm a pretty to the point person to begin with, that happens to have a tendency to pull tails. Suffice to say, I pissed half of the regulars on this forum off, in a little under 12 hours.

    #### was funny.

Exit ramps, but understand, some are better and more suited for 10/8 hour parking then others. also understand these are a last resort but when it comes to that it comes to that and if it means a wake-up call by the sheriff's deputy, then weigh that against a "fine" or write up for running over hours.

And another reason to have a GPS ... DO NOT take an exit that does not have a straight-ahead return ramp. You'll figure this out the hard way if you don't know what I mean.

Always check ahead by calling, or using Google street view/earth, to see if the shipper receiver has parking or on the street. With elogs it also helps preserve your 14.

Stayinback, do I have your permission to jog on my time off? I have a feeling this would fall under the "sissy" type of behavior in your book. I drove some in the 90's and I hate the good ole days, though the 70's would be the real good ole days. I don't like things much the way they are now either. But I have no nostalgia for all that brotherhood crap. People are out for themselves, always have been. There may have been a little more respect back then, but that's as long as you listened to the same music and looked and I acted like everyone else. It's all the same everywhere. Humans have never changed.

You may not want to suggest this buddy. Discussing last ditch places like ramps was a question I had one time... and to say it was met with a flurry of objection (because I was a major arse for not "planning properly") is an understatement.

Anywho, here's the link about RAMPS. At least it's relates to the question of this thread...

    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...interstate-entrance-exit-ramps-state-law.html

So, moral of the story... OP, if you PLANNED PROPERLY you wouldn't need to use a ramp!!! LOL
